PowerApp - Leave Request - Excel file metadata error

Hi,

 

A couple of months ago I've used the Microsoft office template "Leave Request" and adapt it to better serve the needs of my team. But now something strange is happening. I have a data.xlsx that is inside my onedrive for business, and I have that file shared with all my team. It worked fine, until 2 users from the US (I'm in Europe) said that they could not access the data using the app. An error saying that "The specified record was not found. Server Response: Failed to read metadata from file source. Response from the end service is : Not Found"

 

I've confirmed that they have access to the file also because I shared the link for that file and they can open the file with a link. But using the app it does not work only for those 2 users.

 

One test that I did was to create a whole new test app and create a new file with new data inside my onedrive on another location and share that file with those 2 users. The same thing happened. The same error related to metadata. So I'm led to believe there is something preventing the app to reach the excel file for only those 2 users which is strange because they can access the file using the direct link.

 

I'm at a loss to solve the situation.

Does anyone have any clue?

Is it still working for other users in the US?  Or are these the only US users?  If they are the only ones not in Europe you may be running into a problem with data privacy rules in Europe.

There are 3 US users, and only one of them is able to use the app properly. At first I thought that it might be an issue with security policies that are preventing some traffic from reaching European servers but one of the US users has no issue. So I'm back to square one. Maybe its an ISP issue I don't know. They can access sharepoint lists, they can access the file itself using the direct link for the file in my onedrive. But somehow when they are using the app and the app tries to "read" the excel file, it cannot. 

Also I tried for them to use the company VPN to connect to an european server but the same issue occurs. I'm at a loss :s

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities. Users must provide a solution which can be an “Accepted Solution” in the Forums in all of the communities and there are no limits to the number of “Accepted Solutions” that a member can provide for entries in this challenge, but each entry must be substantially unique and different.    Winner Selection and Prizes: At the end of each week, we will list the top ten (10) Community users which will consist of: 5 Community Members & 5 Super Users and they will advance to the final drawing. We will post each week in the News & Announcements the top 10 Solution providers.  At the end of the challenge, we will add all of the top 10 weekly names and enter them into a random drawing.  Then we will randomly select ten (10) winners (5 Community Members & 5 Super Users) from among all eligible entrants received across all weekly Entry Periods to receive the prize listed below.
