PowerApp form allowing submission without required fields being populated

Hi,

I have built a PA form with required fields, however when selecting the submit button, the form is submitting.  The data does not carry over to the data source because not all required fields are input.

I did not set the fields as required when I built my MS list, although I have done this retrospectively and refreshed my data source but this has not fixed the problem.

I currently have on my submit button - On Select - Submitform(form1); Resetform(form1); Newform(form1)

This allows me to submit the form, resets it and leaves a new form to fill out.

I changed the formula to 'if(form1.valid, Submitform(form1)) this did solve the problem of the required fields having to be input but I then lost the reset and new form, when I tried to add them after the 'if' instruction I was left with a blank page.

Please does anyone have a work around or advice?

Hi @F_G1 

In the Datacard properties you should have the possibility to set it as mandatory.

If the field has changed, maybe this property not. If you remove the field in the form (from the field selection) and insert it again, it should work too

The Property in Datacard is "Required" that must be true

Have you tried placing Resetform(form1); Newform(form1) within the OnSuccess control of the form?

I've experienced a form not updating correctly if changes were made to the SharePoint list afterward. It's not ideal, especially if you have done quite a bit of customization on the form already, but it saved me quite a bit of frustration by deleting the EditForm and creating a new one.

Thank you so much, that has done the trick.  I completely forgot about the on success function.

Do you have any tips for having the card highlight if you try to submit but have not filled a question out as it is not obvious when you try to submit without looking back over all the questions.

You should have error messages appearing below your required fields if you try to submit the form without satisfying the asterisks:

While you can use a Notify function to alert people of any required fields they are missing upon button push, you could perhaps consider another route. You can adjust the DisplayMode property of the button so that it is disabled until all the required fields are satisfied:
