PowerApps Default resets when opening app

I have 2 groups in which it has a variable under Visible and it is dependent on what was selected in the Dropdown.

So whenever what was selected in the Dropdown it would make that 1 group appear while the other group becomes hidden.

Whenever the app starts it is expected for the Dropdown to be selected for what was last selected.

Basically, the dropdown value is not retaining the last selection. I've tried to set a variable in Default under Dropdown but it is not working. 

I just need to find a way for it to retain the last selection whenever the app starts. If I can just make the Default still retain for what was last selected in the dropdown.

I meant where do You run the application ? on mobile device in power apps client or in web browser ?

I tried both mobile and web browser.

Running app in edit mode in web browser isn't supported by Save and Load functions. If You have tried with mobile client than I don't really know why it doesn't work (as I said I have tested it and it works fine) ... maybe You are pushing some wrong data. Try to check first is collection loaded with proper data and check what data is dropdown receving ... also check if its dropdown not combobox (they refer data in different ways).

This If syntax is wrong and prevents dropdown from doing anything. I don't know what You want achive with it ... it should be If(condition,true,false) and Yours is If(condition,true,false,condition,true,false) also to refer to dropdown text value

Basically, I want the grouped element I created to be visible based on the selection of the dropdown value. I set a variable for each of the groups for it to be visible as you can see from the screenshot I sent. And whatever the last selected value of the dropdown, it will still be carried on whenever the app loads again. And it is not a combo box it is only a dropdown.

There's something wrong here or I might've just missed something, so I set the If condition in OnStart. During Edit Mode, I clicked on Run OnStart and it was working. But when I published it and test, it is not working.

This If condition is all wrong ... its either:

or if you want to test for more than 1 condition:

If You are setting variables at just one screen than use UpdateContext(local variable) if you need variable to refer to across whole application from different parts of it than use Set(global variable).

Just to test, I only included Notify OnStart and that didn't work in Play mode. Could've it been in the Settings of the app?

Yes, we have tried this we wanted it to refer across the app so we used Set function.

The only think in Settings is to have App.OnStart switched on... other than that it works fine on my side. I would check if data in collection loads properly and if value of dropdown used in default is same as value in collection.
