PowerApps and Sharepoint List access permission

Hello,

I wonder is a user submit a form via PowerApps, whose data is stored in a SharePoint List. Will the user then automatically be granted permission to view the SharePoint List, assumming that the user don't have access to the SharePoint List in the first place?

Hi anguyen,

Before you share an app that is based on SharePoint list, you need to share the list with users with Edit or View permission. Otherwise, shared user won’t be able to access or submit data to the data source.

Hi Amy...

No you shouldn't have to repeat each step, just make sure you include each user that is required for the add user step.

I created a powerapp and made it available to all tenant users to do a quiz which saves data to a sp list.

I granted the list contribute permissions for all users. Users can store data on the list but below request pops up the first time they open the app.

I tried with different permission levels on the list but nothing changes.

Can I solve it easily without any complicated flows?

If you are an O365 Admin, you can disable this popup. https://www.anupams.net/suppress-user-consent-popup-in-powerapps/

Hi Mabel, If I share with a group of users the PowerApp which contained SharePoint Lists, each list with different user access (some users able to access some SP lists, but not able to access certain SP lists).  Would the PowerApp still work for the users? Thanks.

Yes, the PowerApp will still work, but the user can only view or update the list they have permission to. If they try viewing a "Gallery" that is linked to a list they don't have permission to, it'll show up as blank. If they try to add new items to a List they don't have access too, they'll get an error.
