PowerApps for Teams: Delegation of aggregate function "Average" in Dataverse

Hi there,

I'm trying to use the "Average" aggregate function within my teams powerapp using Dataverse tables as a data source. 

I've got an objective entity with multiple underlying tasks with a status field reaching from 0% completion to 100% completion. Now I want to show the overall status of the objective by using "Average" on the status field of the objective related tasks. 

Unfortunately I'm now receiving the delegation issue triangle and I've got no clue on how to fix this. 

Does anybody have an idea?

What data type is the status field?  The AVG() function in Power Apps is only delegable for fields that are number fields.  Since you say the field is a percentage complete I suspect its not a number column

It's a decimal number column (to also visualize 2 decimal places). I'm using the following formula:

Round(Average(Objective.Tasks;'Percent');2)

How many rows are in your Table?  Average is only delegable up to 50,000 rows.  I used it on a table in my Dataverse for Teams environment with a decimal column and it works fine with no delegation warning.

There are only seven rows atm. So it should work. 

My current workflow looks like this: 

1) I'm selecting an objective from a gallery 

2) I'm setting up a collection of tasks from the objective by using "ClearCollect" on "ThisItem.tasks" upon select

3) I'm displaying the Tasks within another gallery using the created collection

4) The gallery items each contain a slider control for the status update

5) Upon using the slider, I'm patching my tasks entity (OnChange) 

6) After the Patch I'm also calling a refresh on my entities (objectives, tasks) 

7) In the "Total Percentage" label of my objective I'm displaying the total percentage as mentioned above

Could the collection be a problem here?

Collections are local and not subject to Delegation one way or the other.  Are you getting the right Average?  If so I would ignore the triangle since delegation doesn't apply to collections.  You are evidently getting a false positive for the app checker.

The collection was in fact the problem. I've rearranged everything a little bit and its working now. 🙂 Thank you
