PowerApps from Sharepoint

When I attempt to auto generate an app from a Sharepoint list, all three screens of the application display the Description data with the HTML tags.  Following some of the suggestions found on other forums where you rename the text control, hide the control, add an HTMLText box and set the htmltext to the name of each of the previously renamed controls only partially solves the problem.  The main problem is on the input screen the HTMLText contol does not allow for input.  While you could default the input box control on this screen to "".  Your are unable to edit part of the data for tihe record field.  Is there code behind solution or a format function you could use in the formula for the text propertie of the text box or input box?  NOTE the Description and Resolution columns of the list are multi-line columns.

Hi Roknron,

HTML text control shows text and convert HTML tags for formatting. But it is not able to be edited in Preview mode. You could add a Text input control in the app, then add an HTML text control and set its HTMLText property to Text input.text.
The HTML text control shows the same text as the Text box control but converts the tags to the appropriate characters. Once you edit the text in the Text input control, the text in HTML text control will also be changed.

If I overlay the text input box with and htmlText box I cannot access the input box at runtime.  The issue exist when you edit an existing record not for new records.

I discovered the issue and adjusted the setting of the list column.  Now the apps works

Another alternative is when you display the multiline textbox is to use the PlainText function when you are displaying it. This removes the HTML, and then it is added back in when you do the save. See this post:

You are a lifesaver. Covering up the html insertion does nothing when you try to report on the data, as it puts the tags there as well. Thanks for the tip!!!
