PowerApps only goes to screen display very quick and then disappears and only shows on 2nd click

Dear Power Apps Super Heroes,

I need your insights...

Something strange is happening with my app. See screen capture: https://www.screencast.com/t/5VsgD7ND

Short description: I am on my app edit screen and after I fill out the form I hit the check button > OnSelect > SubmitForm(EditForm1);ResetForm(EditForm1);Navigate(BrowseGallery1). Theoretically, it should submit the form, reset it and then go to the browse gallery. But it does this weird thing where it only displays the browse gallery for a second and then shows the Edit screen with the form empty. It seems like I have to double-click to get it to navigate to BrowseGallery1.

Very strange. Can someone please enlighten me on what I should do (or not do here...)?

Many thanks for your time,

Joelle

Hi @Joellelechat ,

Navigate to screen and not any control.

Replace "Navigate(BrowseGallery1)" to this -> "Navigate(BrowseScreen1)"

Documentation

Hope this helps

Hi @Ethan_R ,

Thanks for helping.

I tried and replaced it. So the OnSelect shows: SubmitForm(EditForm1);ResetForm(EditForm1);Navigate(BrowseScreen1) and it still does the weird quick display and then only goes to the screen on the second click.

Cheers

Joelle

Hi @Joellelechat ,

Does this formula also has the same behaviour?

IfError(
    SubmitForm(EditForm1);
    ,
    Notify("Error while saving", NotificationType.Error, 1000);
    false;
    ,
    Notify("Saved", NotificationType.Success, 1000);
    ResetForm(EditForm1);
    Navigate(BrowseScreen1);
    true;
)

Hi @Ethan_R ,

Thanks, this is what I get: https://www.screencast.com/t/U923hOxDKR

Cheers

Hi @Joellelechat

i tried using same formula it worked perfectly fine.

SubmitForm(EditForm1);ResetForm(EditForm1);Navigate(BrowseScreen1)

i tried to replicate the issue you are facing and able to do so by using navigation on OnSuccess property of form.Navigating to editformscreen.Please check On success property of editform

thats the only way i was able to replicate your issue. Second time its working fine because on submission of empty form onsuccess property is not getting triggered.

Anyway it may not be issue in Your case only way to understand what exactly happening is to use Monitor functionality or network logs

Hi @developerAJ ,

Thank you for your help.

Thanks again ~

Please refer below steps to use Monitor

developerAJ_0-1684483205019.png

select the Application and on header you will be able to see Monitor. Click on it

developerAJ_1-1684483420665.png

click on play published app in header. go to the screen fill details .

Before clicking on submit button just go back to monitor screen and click on clear data from the header button

go to the app screen and click on submit button.

if you check logs you might find the issue . in my case if you see screenshot i am navigating to form screen because of form on success property.

Just give it try hope you will find the issue from Monitor logs

Hi @Joellelechat

Move any other code, except for the submit itself, to the OnSuccess property of your form.

Your current code for the submit check button > OnSelect >

SubmitForm(EditForm1); ResetForm(EditForm1); Navigate(BrowseScreen1)

becomes:

SubmitForm(EditForm1);

Then your Form's OnSuccess property becomes:

ResetForm(EditForm1); Navigate(BrowseScreen1)

Could you try that and let me know if that still gives you the same issue?

Cheers,

Sancho
