Powerapps ComboBox single select not writing to SharePoint List

Hi, hoping to get help.  New Powerapps user.

 

I have a SharePoint list.  It is simple for tracking time.  I have created PowerApps form as I had to use Combo Box for two columns.

 

One such column is Department selection.  In PowerApps, I deleted default DataCard and inserted combobox control.  Combbox1.

 

It is single select and datasource is correctly setup to lookup values from another table.  The reason for Combobox is it is a large list and we need them to be able to search.  

 

When I test the form, the ComboBox works correctly HOWEVER, the selected value does not get reflected in the List.

 

I checked Update and changed that to ComboBox1.Selected.

 

What am I missing?

sorry you said you didnt write the code hehe it sure reads like you did.

 

However, since you essentially manually modified, when you are submitting its not including that.

 

If you have to had that on the form, then my recommendation is to change it to a Patch statement, then you can be assured it will count. That or make sure its actively considered part of the form, because it doesn't think it is.

 

I am also assuming that its not specifically bound to a field from the datasource as it appears more to be a filter??? but a filter that you want captured.

 

So yeah I would swap to a patch statement, but if you didn't create the stuff, we would need them

Hi all, thank you for reaching out to me.  I realized I was trying to create a Lookup in the form but did not have the column setup as Lookup in the list.  That is why it was not happening.

 

I created a brand new list with correct column type in List and that resolved the problem!!

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
