Pulling up previous submitted data to a text input after re-opening the app

hello everyone, need a little help in pulling up the previous submitted data to a text input after re-opening my app. the app that I'm making is a clock - in app where we can tag our login time, break time, etc. what I have is an edit form connected to a SharePoint list that has a button for tagging an a text input box defaulted to the variable I created for each button for tagging. please see screenshot below:

scenario:

clicking the buttons for tagging works fine and I can save a draft of it. I also have a draft page where we can see our previous submitted tags. each text input in this screen is defaulted to "ThisItem"

I can also continue what I left in my previous activity by clicking the edit button on my gallery

which brings me here where I can continue my logs:

however, if I close the app and re-opened it, all the data in the text input boxes are deleted since it will act as a new sheet.

what I want to happen is even if I closed and re-opened my app, I can still see the draft of my previous logs in the "draft clock in" screen. all the text input boxes in the "draft clock in" screen are defaulted to the variable I created for each buttons which I think is wrong or something is missing.

are you / the users running the app on a webbrowser or on mobile devices? 

If mobile, you can use a collection and the SaveData / LoadData functions to achieve this https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/power-fx/reference/function-savedata-loaddata

Conceptually you would:

App onStart: 

ClearCollect(colTimeTracker, {Login: "", Break: "", BreakReturn: "", Lunch: "", LunchReturn: "", Logout: "", Comments:""})

onSelect Login Button (same for other buttons): 

Patch(colTimeTracker,First(colTimeTracker),{Login: Now()})

Login Text (same for other texts): 

Index(colTimeTracker,1).Login

Save Button:

SaveData(colTimeTracker,"TimeTrackerCache")

LoadButton:

LoadData(colTimeTracker,"TimeTrackerCache")

@VauBee. we are planning to use a web browser for my app as well as add it on MS Teams

In your Apps' settings activate Preview:

Tested it both in my webbrowser and Teams.

Web: Data is at least cached until browser is closed bc my browser cache is deleted.

Teams on Web: as in Browser

Teams Desktop: Data is apparently stored locally and was even available after shutting down Teams  

You should give it a try...

In my code snippets replace 

Index(colTimeTracker,1).Login

with 

First(colTimeTracker).Login

Note that it will still throw an error while you are authoring / editing teh app.

You can only test this when actually running the app.
