Question - Trying to change the label of my dropdown-choice menu in Power Apps (canvas)

Hi

Trying to change the label of the selection in my drop down choice menu in a Canvas App.

Atm I have ["Value"] under DATA -> DisplayFields.
In my SharePoint List i have a selection of 1-9 i would like to change this to

1 = A

2 = B

3 = C etc etc.

But the values should be keept 1-9 in the data for the SharePoint List. So the values in the Sharepoint list should be 1-9 but the labels in the dropdown menu should be text,

Could anybody please help me with this?
Tried to manipulate the ["Value"] but just got a lot of errors.

Thank you in advance,

BR

The new Function you redid works fine, no errors.
But can't really follow after the that step for the "lookUp(myMap;a ......"
Can it be because I use Teams?
Have do implement this in PowerApps Teams...

Thank you again!

//OnVisible property of Screen1
ClearCollect(myMap,{a:"A",b:1},{a:"B",b:2},{a:"C",b:3},{a:"D",b:4},{a:"E",b:5},{a:"F",b:6},{a:"G",b:7},{a:"H",b:8},{a:"I",b:9})

//Items property of existing Dropdown showing 1-9 linked to data source column
//this may be called something like DataCardValue7 for example
////keep what you already have now - leave it alone as what Power Apps generated there
//

//Default property of existing Dropdown showing 1-9 linked to data source column
LookUp(myMap,a=myNewVisibleDropdownControl.Selected.Value).b

//Visible property of existing Dropdown showing 1-9 linked to data source column
false
//yes, we want to hide this one now from the form

//So now create a new Dropdown control called myNewVisibleDropdownControl inside that same data card

//Items property of new Dropdown in modified datacard showing A-I
ForAll(Sequence(CountRows(myMap)),LookUp(myMap,b=ThisRecord.Value).a)

//Visible property of new Dropdown in modified datacard showing A-I
true

See if it works for you.

Hi
Thanks for the great help.

But got wrong when trying to add the Sharepoint list.
Dont really know how to solve it

Thanks in advance,

//beware English speakers - different separators

ClearCollect(myMap;{a:"A";b:1};{a:"B";b:2};{a:"C";b:3};{a:"D";b:4};{a:"E";b:5};{a:"F";b:6};{a:"G";b:7};{a:"H";b:8};{a:"I";b:9})

See if this helps @DavidKarnelius

For the other formulas I gave, you must make similar changes as well, your separators are different than mine.

hmmm yeah it is something like that. But now got some functioning errors, have to try and find out the correct formating on the function.
I will try and get back to you, Thank you for helping me!

Here is version, I try to use your separators, see if it helps:

//beware English speakers - different separators

//OnVisible property of Screen1
ClearCollect(myMap;{a:"A";b:1};{a:"B";b:2};{a:"C";b:3};{a:"D";b:4};{a:"E";b:5};{a:"F";b:6};{a:"G";b:7};{a:"H";b:8};{a:"I";b:9})

//Items property of existing Dropdown showing 1-9 linked to data source column
//this may be called something like DataCardValue7 for example
////keep what you already have now - leave it alone as what Power Apps generated there
//

//Default property of existing Dropdown showing 1-9 linked to data source column
LookUp(myMap;a=myNewVisibleDropdownControl.Selected.Value).b

//Visible property of existing Dropdown showing 1-9 linked to data source column
false
//yes, we want to hide this one now from the form

//So now create a new Dropdown control called myNewVisibleDropdownControl inside that same data card

//Items property of new Dropdown in modified datacard showing A-I
ForAll(Sequence(CountRows(myMap));LookUp(myMap;b=ThisRecord.Value).a)

//Visible property of new Dropdown in modified datacard showing A-I
true

//See if it works for you.

The new Function you redid works fine, no errors.
But can't really follow after the that step for the "lookUp(myMap;a ......"
Can it be because I use Teams?

The Data Card has to be modified on the Canvas App. The existing DataCardValue that has the numbers, is kept, but must be hidden from view, and you can make it very small or tiny in size moved out of position a bit as well. You may need to select the data card, go to the right side, Advanced Tab, then click Unlock to change properties to make those changes.  You'll need to create a new Dropdown control called myNewVisibleDropdownControl inside that data card and make sure its visible property is set to true, position it to around where the other dropdown was  - if needed in the tree view, you should set it so it is in front of the dropdown with the numbers you just hid. So then after that,

Here are the formulas for the hidden Dropdown:

Items:

Leave it alone

Default:

//Default property of existing Dropdown showing 1-9 linked to data source column
LookUp(myMap;a=myNewVisibleDropdownControl.Selected.Value).b

 Visible:

false

 Here are the formulas for the new Dropdown called myNewVisibleDropdownControl which should be inside that same datacard, and should be visible:

Items:

//Items property of new Dropdown in modified datacard showing A-I
ForAll(Sequence(CountRows(myMap));LookUp(myMap;b=ThisRecord.Value).a)

Default:

Leave it alone

 Visible:

true

See if this helps a bit @DavidKarnelius

Thank you, very much appriciate your patiance. But new error unfortunally.

@DavidKarnelius

I guess it's because I should have listed that step as last.

If you perform all the other steps, does the error go away?
