RFQ Multiple vendors

Hi,

Hope someone can advise and provide some inspiration.

I have sharepoint as data source and looking to create a request for quote app.

Are there any examples, you can suggest to look at?

Steps

1. Internal user submits request to sharepoint log

2. Internal team pushes request out to external vendors

3. quotes from multiple vendors to be stored within the intital request in step 1. - (Not sure how to go about this)

4. Internal team selects best quote and notifies external teams

It looks like you're designing a full solution from scratch. I would suggest looking at the canvas Power App templates to see how they work and if they contain parts which you can use for your solution.

If you are looking for vendors to "Use" the app, there isn't really a good way of doing that with PowerApps.  Power Pages is probably the route you would have to go to get auth with 3rd party providers tied to contacts in your dataverse etc. Or something like that. Microsoft Power Pages | Microsoft Power Platform. 

If you are just collecting documents etc. Then you could utilize OneDrive to request files from vendors for them to place and pull into your App etc. If it's just internal users using the app and you are linking to files.

You might also be able to utilize Microsoft Froms to collect the RFP and files since I think it supports file attachments now and have those moved to a location you can build you app around. Which would allow collection of metadata in addition to files.

Well I just checked, Forms only works for internal file upload, which is a shame, because it could be perfect for this solution. You could still use Forms for Metadata, then you could attach a flow to the response of the Form by created the metadata into a SharePoint list, then having the flow create a Folder in a SharePoint library, then create an anonymous sharing link to that file location and send an e-mail to the person submitting the RFQ (Ask for their e-mail address for this) to upload their documentation.  And go that route. 

Again it would be very much a send the RFQ and forget type of thing. But that's about the way you would go about it, I am assuming quotes are files etc. If no files involved then you could just utilize Microsoft Forms with anonymous for collection and tie it to SharePoint list / flows and you're app can work out of that list etc.

@cwebb365 - thanks for the advise.

I am using forms to send out the request and using it to populate the sharepoint list with the details. this works fine. The problem i have is the current set up only allows one quote as all the data is stored on the list item from the internal requester.

To make the process more flexible, i need the ability to send multiple vendor requests out and link it back to the one internal request. Not sure how to go about that.
