Radio button saving the previously saved form value

Hi,

I have a powerapp form with radio buttons yes/No sharepoint list columns.

The issue here is when i edit a radio button value and hit save. It updates the values correctly.

But when creating a new form with the radio button leaving as blank after submitting the form the radio button shows the values of the previously saved form instead of showing as blank.

RadioButton

     Default: If(isNewform,"", ThisItem.Fieldname)

     Items: choices(@Listname.fieldname)

Datacard

    Default: thisitem.fieldname

   Update: Radiobuttonname.selected

Any help would be appreciated

Yes/No columns in SharePoint have to take a value, ie - either Yes or No - they cannot be BLANK. So, when you are submitting a Form with a blank radio button SharePoint is assigning the column DEFAULT value, which sounds like it is set to Yes.

If you wish to store BLANKS along with Yes/No you'll need to use Choice columns instead and have a BLANK as a choice option. You may also needs to turn on Formula-level error management to send blanks to SharePoint. Do this via

Settings --> Upcoming features --> turn on Formula-level error management toggle

It isn't setting the value as Yes. but what ever values saved in the previous form Yes/No but cannot make it as blank.

Also the default value in the list is also blank.

How do you know it's using the previous Form's value? Also, how are you setting the Default to Blank on a Yes/No column? I'm not able to do that, ie

@EddieE sorry for the confusion. My field is a dropdown field and i replaced it with radio button in the powerapp form.

This is my Add new form

When i enter the title and leave the Priority as blank

The strange thing it will only happen when you save two forms one after the other but if you leave it for sometime and then save it it will save as blank. You can see from the above form t3 is submitted after sometime t2 is submitted.

When i submit t4 with Yes and then t5 with blank value it is showing in the form as the value Yes is selected but not saved in the list.

Ok, but I will still need to know what column type you are using, eg

- Single Line of Text

- Choice

- Yes/No

- other

Also, can you provide these for your Radio Control

- Items property

- Default property

- OnChange & OnSelect properties

And can you please provide this for the DataCard that holds the Radio Control in your Form

- Update property

- Default property

And this from your Form

- Item property

With these items I should be able to debug your issue/s.

what column type you are using: Choice

can you provide these for your Radio Control

- Items property - Choices([@'Issue tracker Test'].Priority)

- Default property - If(Form1.Mode = FormMode.Edit,ThisItem.Priority.Value,"")

- OnChange & OnSelect properties = false & false

DataCard that holds the Radio Control in your Form

- Update property - Radio1.Selected

- Default property - ThisItem.Priority

Item property

currItem(Which is Gallery.Selected)

AddForm Button

ResetForm(Form1); NewForm(Form1)

Save button

SubmitForm(Form1);
Refresh('Issue tracker Test');
ClearCollect(colAllItems,'Issue tracker Test');
Set(currItem, LookUp(colAllItems,ID = Last('Issue tracker Test').ID));

Try this in the OnSuccess of your Form

Set(currItem, Form1.LastSubmit);

Just doing this may fix your issue

@EddieE  thanks for your help.It is working in my test form but not working in exact form with around 20-30 radio button controls. Not sure what i am doing wrong
