Register leading zeroes in SP through a PowerApps application.

Hi, 

I have an application with a SharePoint list as a DataBase (browse, new and edit records in the SP List). 

In the App I have a new/edit form where users can input a new number or edit an existing one in the SharePoint List.  This number needs to have 3 digits. 

In the SharePoint list, I can enter a number with leading zeros (001, 023) and is registered as entered, but when I enter the number thru the application, the zeros are not register (1, 23). 

I need to configure the application so that when a number with leading zeros is entered in the form, the number is registered in the SharePoint list with the leading zeros. 

The SharePoint List Field is a Single Line of Text.

The Card properties in the new/edit form that update the SharePoint Field are:

• Default: ThisItem.NumberoftheSharePointField
• Update: Value(DataCardValueNumber.Text)
• DataField: Name of the SharePoint Field

The Text Input in the DataCard properties are:

• Default: Parent.Default
• Format: Number

I found some messages with related topics and I tried must of the accepted solutions, like Text Formulas, but nothing has worked.

SharePoint List column is Single Line of Text

Under Power App, the field  format is Text

As you can see in the Gallery on left, the leading zeros are preserved

Hi, thank you so mucho for the help, but it didn't seem to have worked, no leading zeros were added to the single digit number entered in the field in PowerApps nor in the SharePoint List.  See images attached.

Hi, yes this would work.  Ideally, I would like power apps to apply the leading zeros if the end user does not enter a 3-digit number, but if the zeros are registered in the SharePoint list as entered in PowerApps as in your gif it would work.  I could enter somo kind of tooltip or instruction text to let the end user know that a 3-digit number is needed.

I have actually tested the code and it works - are you updating the same card as the text box is in and what validation do you have on the box?

Thak you for the follow up, I updated the update property of the card where the text input is, what do you mean by validation of the text box?

Your problem is here

Change this to Text - Number is self-defeating as it will not show the leading zeros you are after (this is the validation I was referring to)

Hello @WarrenBelz , sorry for the delay, just finishes testing and it didn't work.  I don't know what I am missing.
