Hello Everyone,
I have a gallery set up with data from a SQL view. I have added PICK or FAIL check boxes. Users can only select PICK or FAIL per line items. (Items with check marks are populated into my collection "colResults"). On Save, the results (pick or fail) and the rest of the line item information is populated in a table in SQL. How can I make it so on save, any items that are checked off are then removed from the gallery?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi@ebraga,
Yes, it could be achieved by the Collect() function.
If you just want to remove the checked items from the Gallery rather than the data source, you can change the Items of the Gallery.
I have a test on my side, please take a try as below.
You need to keep the previous steps as before.
Add a Button and set the OnSelect property as below:
Collect(DataCol,APAC1)
Set the items property of the Gallery as below:
DataCol
Set the OnSelect property of the Save Button as below:
ForAll(
RenameColumns(
Filter(
BrowseGallery1.AllItems,
Checkbox1.Value = true Or Checkbox2.Value = true
),
"ID",
"ID1"
),
RemoveIf(
DataCol,
ID = ID1
)
)
Note: You need to change two points, a source within the RemoveIf() function and Items property within the Gallery. You can change Gallery Items into a collection created based on the data source so that when you use RemoveIf(), it's the collection that's cleared instead of the data source.

hi there
hope i read your message correctly.
If the checks are in the collection lets say "response" you can add this to save RemoveIf(colResults,response=true) this will remove all the items from the collection where the checkbox is checked
Here the items are checked and the collection "response"is updated to true
here the items are removed which are checked
Thank you for your response. The remove(if works but it does not remove the items from the gallery.
Hi@ebraga,
Based on the issue that you mentioned, do you want to remove the checked items away from the Gallery on saving?
Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?
Let me confirm this with you: you want to remove all the checked items no matter it is PICK or FAIL from the Gallery once you click the Save Button.
If my understanding is correct, I have made a test and you can take a try as below.
To make sure that users can only select PICK or FAIL per line items. you can set their DisplayMode property as below:
Set the PICK Checkbox DisplayMode property as below:
If(Checkbox2.Value=true Or false,Disabled)
Set the PICK Checkbox OnCheck property as below:
Clear(Tem);Collect(colResults,AddColumns(Collect(Tem,ThisItem),"PICK","Pick"))
Set the PICK Checkbox OnUncheck property as below:
RemoveIf(colResults,true)
Set the FAIL Checkbox DisplayMode property as below:
If(Checkbox1.Value=true Or false,Disabled)
Set the FAIL Checkbox OnCheck property as below:
Clear(Tem);Collect(colResults,AddColumns(Collect(Tem,ThisItem),"FAIL","Fail"))
Set the FAIL Checkbox OnUncheck property as below:
RemoveIf(colResults,true)
After the above operation, you can collect every checked item within the Gallery to colResults.
Set the OnSelect property of the Save button as below:
ForAll(
RenameColumns(
Filter(
BrowseGallery1.AllItems,
Checkbox1.Value = true Or Checkbox2.Value = true
),
"ID",
"ID1"
),
RemoveIf(
APAC1,
ID = ID1
)
)
Note: 'APAC1' is my SP list name. You can check the Gif below for reference.
Best Regards,
Qi
Thank you so much for your help Qi,
This works until I get to the last step. The On Select property of the save button does not work because I don't want to remove the items from the SQL table ( SharePoint List ), just from the gallery. Is that possible?
