Hi community!
I am building an app using forms, and I am using a gallery for update, every item get a checkbox to update using a collection and get removed from the collection when unchecked and there is a checkbox for selectAllCheckboxes out of the gallery.
It works well when I check or uncheck items individually or when I selectAll to check all or uncheck all.
The problem is when I want to check all then uncheck some items , the Remove function doesn't work( Clear works but doesn't matter)
When I review the collection details there is some differences between the items added to collection individually and by selectAll.
So is there any suggestions to remove the item when unchecked after selectAll !?
thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
Checkbox outside gallery
Gallery with individual checkboxes
Button - Create a collection
This is how you screen and code should flow
You could rebuild the collection using a ClearCollect() and only add the records where the gallery items are checked (Using If function).

Thanks for replying.
You see there is two mechanisms of checkboxs , ones inside gallery item where I used Collect(collection, thisItem) in OnCheck and Remove(collection) in OnUnCheck. it works well!
And I used another mechanism is to check all the checkboxs using a button outside the gallery where I used ClearCollect(collection,Gallery.AllItems).
Now after using the button I need to uncheck some items but Remove(collection) in OnUnCheck doesn't work in this case!
Sorry but I don't see where to use If when OnCheck property do the work.
Please enlighten me if I'm wrong.
I am not sure why you need the Remove as a ClearCollect will remove all the records and refresh.
Apologies. I didn't mean If I meant filter. Something like this
ClearCollect(collection,Filter(Gallery1.AllItems,Checkbox1.Value=true))

@Sybaris1 When you use checkbox outside gallery first then using checkboxes inside gallery to uncheck, You need to uncheck the checkbox outsode the gallery as well.
For checkbox inside gallery,OnUncheck you can uncheck external checkbox as well.
Please check thisand try.
Ok I see what you mean. You suggest to use the filter on the selectAll button but I want the button to select all without me checking checkboxes or filtering the items first but after all is selected.
If , using the filter, I uncheck some ones nothing should happen hypothetically because the collection is already built unless you want to use the filter on OnUnCheck but that is not correct because I need it to uncheck the item (not all) of the gallery. So I use Remove in OnUncheck to remove the item when Uncheked.
The problem here is when I click the selectAll button it clearCollects all the items but doesn't check the items .
I used a local variable when I click the selectAll to change default of the checkboxes means the Boolean value of the checkboxes inside the item to true but Remove function in OnUncheck property still doesn't work (but I wonder why clear works ).
And even if the filter on the selectAll won't work practically because without me using the local variable it is like unchecked already so nothing is inside the collection.
Thank you 🌻
Hi !
I used a button outside to clearCollect all items of the gallery but the checkboxes inside aren't really checked so I defined a local variable inside the button and used it for default of checkbox inside to change value when button is selected from true to false or from false to true.
So when I click the items are all collected and the boolean values of checkboxes are true when I reclick the button the boolean is false and I used a clear function in the button so all items are removed from collection.
now I want to remove an item when unchecked after selecting all using the button.the problem is even I changed the value of default inside the checks to true (because they are not really checked) remove in OnUncheck doesn't work. When I check checkboxes individually and uncheck some remove works but not after selecting all.
@Sybaris1 Why you want to include all the items in collection first and then remove.
First perform all check/uncheck operations once that is done when you want to use those records create a collection there with below formula
ClearCollect(collection,Filter(Gallery1.AllItems,Checkbox1.Value=true))
You should make collection once all operations are completed not before that.
Yes, but some users might need to check all items with one button not checking each one .Then uncheck some items.
That's why, it would be frustrating if I need all items expect some ones and I had to check one by one.
Like I said before, I can collect checked and remove unchecked but I have issue with the select all.
Good day!
@Sybaris1 I dont think thats the issue. If you are calling code at the end when submitting using that data whatever items seleted will be available for you.
With your checkbox outside gallery, you just need to OnCheck of that you must check all the checkboxes inside gallery and on then direct call the collection.
Dont create collection on every single checkbox.
