Replacing SharePoint database

Hello!

Each week I need to replace my database with a new one. The columns will always be on the same order. Is there an easy way to do this? Cause right now I have to delete the database from my sharepoint, export it from excel to sharepoint and then I have to add it to my power app again. Is there a way to just overwrite the sharepoint list?

You can use Power Automate for that.
Permanently store your excel file in One-drive then update record using power automate. (If you have always same no of records.)
If not then try this:

then run flow to save new record.

Thank you for your answer. It will not always have the same amount of records, that's why I need to replace it sometimes. Can i still do it, even if it has 6000 rows in the excel/sharepoint list? @sayyed007amir

Hi @Anonymous ,

It's unable to overwrite the sharepoint list connection even if the list names are the same.

If you have deleted the original sharepoint list and created a new list, the original sharepoint list connection should be invalid, it is certain that you have to create a new sharepoint connection for the new list. 

The most practical way is import the excel data to the original list, first delete all items, then copy/paste excel table data in Quick Edit view.

It indeed will turn invaled when you remove it and put it back again. Whenever you use the quick edit and paste 6000 rows in there, it takes 1 hour and even then not all the 6000 rows are in there. 

Is it not possible to automate this with power automate? To delete everything in the sharepoint list and then put everything from the excel file back inside of it? @v-siky-msft

Yes, flow could be a more productive ways to handle 6000 records.

The flow is simple, please check the following steps:

First select a trigger depending on how do you want to run this flow.

Second, do a Get Items action, and a Delete Item action inside the Apply to Each loop. To improve the performance, you can set Pagination to get the maximum number of return items and set the Degree of Parallelism to improve the execution speed.

Third, do a List rows present in a table Excel action and then Create item SharePoint action inside of an Apply to each step.

And how many rows can I do at maximum?

I can't put the threshold on 10.000, it tells me the maximum is 5000. Does this mean I can only do this with a maximum of 5000 rows? @v-siky-msft
