Retrieve sharepoint list entry with latest date

Hi,

I want to filter a sharepoint list by the latest date (from date column). How can I return the latest date from the date column in a text label? There is no gallery available.

The way I would figure you could do in the lable would be to use this 

Filter(ListName,Date=First(Sort(Distinct(ListName,Date),Result,Descending)).Result)

Thanks for your answer. However, this formula results into nothing (no output).

My sharepoint list looks like this:

Title	Date
Test1	25.05.2022
Test2	15.10.2018
Test3	05.01.2020

The text label in my powerapp should show the newest "Title". In this case it would be Test1

Does someone know how to get this running?

you really should only need this:

First(Sort(ListName,Date,Descending)).Title

COuld you sort by most recent why not sort by ID

Descending
)

I could see that being a problem if you input an entry into the list with an older date (ie retroactively adding to it).

It would give you an older date because its the newer record, if that makes sense.

Just wanted to mention that none of the options here worked for me. I was attempting to show the latest record out of multiple for a person where a Validation Date would be marked each year for them. We only wanted the latest date to show in the "Validation Date" field. The person would be retrieved by a special identification number, which I'll just call WorkID, that would be in a text field (txtWorkID). Since you could retrieve the person's name and Validation Date with that WorkID using Filters, this is how the date field's DefaultDate property of the Validation Date looked:

First(
    SortByColumns(
        Filter(
            AddColumns('Validations List',"ValDate",'Validation Date'),Title=txtWorkID.Text
        ),
    "ValDate",
    SortOrder.Descending)
).'Validation Date'

And the person field didn't need the sorting, since it was always the same whenever their WorkID was present:

LookUp('Validations List',txtWorkID.Text="Title").'EmployeeName'
