Return value based on Parameter ID

Hi All,

I am quite new to PowerApps and I was wondering if someone might be able to assist with this issue.

I am using a Gallery to build a dynamic form based on a list in SharePoint. This works fine but I want to return various forms based on the on an ID. So all list items with an ID column value of 1 creates the fields for the first form then all items with an ID of 2 creates the second dynamic form etc....

The gallery uses a Collection which I load when the App starts (OnStart).... This all works great!

My issue is that I do not know how to only get all the list items with an ID of 2 for example.

I can return all the items from the sharepoint list just by setting the Item with the collection as the data source.

But I cannot return just the items in the collection with a specific ID 

I presume I do this in the Gallery "Item" property

But I need to do something like a LookUp and return all list items based on the ID column:

EG:

Set(varFormID, Param("ID"));

LookUp(FormTemplateConfig, FormName.Id = Value(varFormID))

This doesn't return anything despite the ID parameter being set correctly?

Can anyone tell me how I can achieve this?

HI @myatix ,

What exactly is FormName.Id ? This is a SharePoint Integrated from, so how why are you sending parameters to it ? 

If you are actually after the item with the ID, the current selected item in SharePoint is 

SharePointIntegration.SelectedListItemID

If it is coming from a parameter, it would be

LookUp(
   FormTemplateConfig, 
   ID = Value(varFormID)
)

I am passing the parameter to the Power App via a SharePoint Page with an Embeded webpart (iFrame). As explained in this article. https://www.about365.nl/2020/08/06/passing-parameters-to-your-power-apps-sharepoint-form/

The formName.ID is the ID of the dynamic fields I want to return for that specific page.

So all SharePoint list items should be returned to the PowerApp Gallery based on the parameter I have passed from the SharePoint page.

Your lookup proposed above returns a the field for the SharePoint list item ID and not the FormName.ID???

Any ideas?

Hi @myatix ,

It is good practice to describe your structure in your initial post. I do not use webparts, so am not the best person to take this further. I assume that you have a complex field type (Lookup?) with FormName - not the best structure for deep linking.

I ended up changing my SharePoint list column type to a standard text field(Instead of lookup) and then resolved the issue with the following code. One of my main issues is that I didn't realise that lookup only returns a single entry, so I needed to use the Filter function.

FormTemplateConfig,
FormID = Value(Param("ID"))
)
