Schedule from excel table

Hello, i have an excel table which looks like this, it's a shift schedule.

Parabellum_3_0-1615990684012.png

I want it to be in my app( view only).
The best way i figured it could work is data table.
Few problems i have with data table:
1. Such schedule is created quarterly, which means it has ~90 columns and i have  to add all of them manually.
2. The columns are sorted the way 1.01(january 1st), 1.02(february 1st) , 1.03(march 1st) , 2.01(January 2nd) , etc. and not the way i need it to be i.e. 1.01, 2.01, 3.01, .... , 31.01, 1.02, etc.
3. Columns' width is  160, when 50 is more that enough, again i have to change the with of every column manually.

Is there any way i could create such schedule in my app, so it updates automatically with changes in the table? (unfortunately i cannot change the source i.e the table has to stay) 😞

UPD: it doesn't have to be a data table in the app, although I couldn't find better fit for such task.

Yes, so the concern then comes from the continued use of the Excel file.  You can certainly get data from the Excel file, but it needs to be in a Table format.  Also, once added to PowerApps, it will get a PowerAppsID column added to the table.  The question will be...can your source Excel be set up that way and still be used as you indicate it has to continue to be used by others?

Focusing on having your App as the primary interface to the data rather than Excel would be where I would try to concentrate.  PowerApps is meant to replace these types of technologies.  As part of that, if you want to use the existing data from the Excel file, you can, but it really should not be altered after that.

So, I'd say, if the answer is that there is a reason that the Excel needs to stay the way it is and still be used like it is, and there is no other way to migrate to a newer more simplified method, then this might be something to back-burner.

I'm just stating from experience that, especially with Excel, putting in PowerApps means moving people away from the Excel ASAP as this then becomes the primary datasource and any thing that someone can do in the Excel that will screw up the app....it will happen!

Your best choice for controls will be a Vertical Gallery with a nested horizontal gallery.

The bigger problem with this solution (and I've gone through this exact scenario with many clients) is the data...where is it coming from and how is it updated.

If it is in an Excel file like it appears, then once you connect to that and use it as a datasource, it should not be altered.

So, I guess my question is, based on the image you show and the basic concept of what you want...what do you really want to get to?  An app for ALL to use or an app for some and Excel for others?

I'm not sure if i understood your question right, so i'll provide some background. hope it'll clarify what i need.
I'm creating an app which allows to create schedule requests, such as shift swaps. I figured it'd be a good idea to have schedule on the same screen. Excel is where the manager manually changes the shifts( and it has to stay this way, unfortunately). So all i need is gallery/data table to show actual data from excel.

Everyone besides the manager has access to excel file in view-only mode. Hope my explanation clarifies the situation. If not, do not hesitate to comment 🙂
