Hi @Paul71 ,

I find that maybe you do not understand what the parameters mean in formula, so you need an example in details.

Here's my test for your reference:

1)Firstly, you could find the screenname here:

12125.PNG

 In formulas, if you need to fill in screenname, please find the screen name that you want.

2)do not forget to connect your app with data source

3)in screen3, I insert a gallery, a textinput

set the gallery's Items:

If(IsBlank(TextInput3.Text),fruit1234,Search(fruit1234,TextInput3.Text,"Title"))

//TextInput3 is my textinput name,fruit1234 is my data source name, Title is the fieldname

Search(fruit1234,TextInput3.Text,"Title") means that filter table fruit1234 based on Title field by using the Text in texinput3.

On your side, you should try:

If(IsBlank(TextInputname.Text),datasource,Search(datasource,TextInputname.Text,"fieldname"))

//please replace the textinputname ,datasource,fieldname with the names that you use

12126.PNG

2)set the arrow button's OnSelect:

Navigate(Screen4,None)

In this way, I could navigate to screen4 by clicking the button.

On your side, you should set it navigate to the screen that you want when you click the arrow button.

Navigate(the screenname that you want to navigate to,None)

Please replace the screenname that you want.

Anyway, you need to replace the example parameters with the right parameters in your app.

I really suggest you read this doc, it describe how to build an app about combination of gallery,detailsscreen,editscreen in details:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/working-with-forms

@Paul71

Currently the code for the next arrow is Select(Parent) which means the icon will execute the code in your gallery's OnSelect property.  You should change the code in your gallery's OnSelect property to this.

Navigate(your_details_screen_name, None)

The search box is nothing more than a generic text box to take inputs.  You want to look at the gallery's Items property to control how SEARCH is working.

Search(
    your_datasource_name,
    your_searchbox_name.Text,
    your_column_name1
)

Hi many thanks, sorry but i cannot find this option, I am not a programmer and some of the above items do they need modifying for my data source?

@Paul71

You find the property of a control by clicking on it and changing the dropdown beside the formula bar.

No, there is not any requirement to change your datasource.

Ok i get an error as soon as i enter that code you provided for the Onselect

@Paul71

You need to change your_datasource_name to match the datasource connected to your app.

Ok i think despite being in IT for 28yrs, I am going to  give up here lol.

I have no idea what i am supposed to change the drop down to, or where you are referring to 😞

You can see the issue, doesnt matter where i place it

Is there anyway if i let you know any details like name of data source etc.  could provide the code?

i seem to be getting more confused

Can anyone help? i am not a programmer not even powershell and as such dont really understand where i am supposed to modify any of the code provided above. I have looked everywhere and wherever i place it it has errors.

Have searched the internet, watched a few videos but i am still stumped.
