Search number field and visible only if the gallery is selected

I have two issues hopefully someone can help me. 

1. How can I search a number field on a gallery? It doesn't seem to work for something like this 

Search(SPList,TextBox.text,"SPNumberfield")

2. Sometimes my gallery doesn't auto select the first item after showing a search result? How can I make the button visible only if the gallery is selected?

1.  Keep in mind that the Search function in Power Apps will only operate on string fields and not on numbers. To search across numbers, you'll need to convert them to text. Here's an example formula:
   
   Search(AddColumns(SPList, "textSPNumber", Text(SPNumberfield)), TextBox.text, "SPNumberfield")​​
   
   However, be cautious as you might encounter delegation warnings with this formula, especially for large lists.

2. If you could provide additional details and screenshots regarding the issue you're experiencing, it would greatly assist in understanding and addressing the problem more effectively. Your further explanation will be much appreciated.

Hi @atn2019,

Search expects a column of type Text - not number. You could use the following code instead (not delegable):

Filter(
    SPList,
    TextBox.Text in SPNumberfield
)

To auto-select the first record in the gallery directly after searching, you could use the following code in the Gallery's Default property:

{ID: First(Self.AllItems).ID}

The search result is not accurate with your formula. For example, if I enter 35 in the search box, it shows 135 on the gallery and not 35. Same go if I enter 1, it shows 18, 61, 71 etc and not 1.

That is the expected behaviour of a Search query (looks whether it contains the value) - either via Search & Text or the 'in' operator. A StartsWith function may be a better solution to your requirement:

Filter(
    SPList,
    StartsWith(SPNumberfield, TextBox.Text)
)

Alternatively, should you want an exact match only - you could use the equals operator:

Filter(
    SPList,
    IsBlank(TextBox.Text) || SPNumberfield = Value(TextBox.Text)
)

This still doesn't work correctly. The results this item doesn't show any thing when entering any numbers on the text field. Also, I can no longer search other field once I added this formula. I think it mixes up using the same textbox as search function uses.

Unfortunately, I am unable to recreate that issue on my end. The Filter works as expected - only returning exact number matches when numbers are filled and all record when the text field is blank.

We may need more information to further troubleshoot the issue e.g. additional filters / conditions.

Yes, the formula works great if I only use filter. Once I start adding search, it won't work because both search and filter are using the same textbox to look up.

I tried the code below and it works great 

Filter(SPList,IsBlank(TextInputSearchUser_47.Text) || SPNumberColumn= Value(TextInputSearchUser_47.Text))

but once I start adding below, it won't work at all

SortByColumns(Search(Filter(SPList,IsBlank(TextInputSearchUser_47.Text) || SPNumberColumn= Value(TextInputSearchUser_47.Text),TextInputSearchUser_47.Text,"SearchColumn1","SearchColumn2","SearchColumn3","SearchColumn4","SearchColumn5"),"SortColumn",SortOrder.Ascending))
