Select row in data table for editing in a form (separate data sources)

Trying to ask in a different way for better traction...

Image below is a gallery and a form. The left side (gallery) is connected to an Oracle view that shows 3 columns, Status, Date1, Date2.

You can see the row for Status 5 selected below. How can I get the 3 columns to show up in the form for editing and Patching to a separate SP list? Every article and video I find uses the same data source for table and form...

When you edit the data in the form on the right, are you also wanting to save the changes to your Oracle datasource?  

If yes, add a "Submit" button for the form with the OnSelect code as "SubmitForm(<formname>.  For the patching to an alternate data source, the Form will have a property called OnSuccess.  This gets fired whenever the submit is successful.  I would do something like this:

Set(varLastSubmitted,<formname>.LastSubmit;

Patch(<otherdatasource>,LookUp(<otherdatasource>,Status=varLastSubmitted.Status), {Status: varLastSubmitted.Status, Date1: varLastSubmitted.Date1, Date2: varLastSubmitted.Date2})

If you're not looking to save the changes to the Oracle source from your gallery, I would not bother with the form and create the fields manually on the right side, with the values being the gallery information.  For example, a Text box who's Text property is galleryLeftSide.Selected.Status, etc.   Then put a button on there that has the patch command as the OnSelect property.

@zuurg It is not a must that the Gallery and the Form have to have the same Datasource. Normally that's the case but you can very well have what you want.

If you want to use an EditForm, remembers there are 2 important properties,

1. The Datasource (your SP List)

2. The Item - To get the correct Item, you have to do a LookUp on the SP Lis to find the matching record for the one selected in the Gallery.

Then the rest is as usual.

@zuurg Thanks for the suggestion to not use the form, since I am not updating my Oracle view, only my SP change request list. One additional question, is there a way to dynamically add the selected rows so that the user can submit more that status to have it's date updated? For example, per your working example above, could I add another dimension to galleryLeftSide.Selected.Status selection as a list of sorts... in case I click a few different rows and want to edit in one shot. Thanks again, let me know if I should provide a diagram/more info.
