Sending Data Between Screens

Good afternoon - Looking for help on the following:

1) I have a gallery with parts/services for users to select. IF a user selects a checkbox(es), I would like the 3 data fields (ItemCode, Description, and Price) from the gallery to be passed to my PO request screen and the 3 data fields info put into the Text Input Fields (Line1PartNo,  Line1ItemDescription, Line1UnitPrice) on PO screen. I'm thinking I have to do something with variables...

PO Request Screen:

1A) How do I handle if a user selected multiple gallery items and have the data populate to correct text input field (as I'm not using a form on the PO Request Screen)

2. How do I reset/clear the check box control if someone uses checkbox to select item(s) when button is selected?

Reset function didn't seem to work...

Thank You

Thanks for help @TheRobRush

Ended up doing the following:

Checkbox Property = variable (ResetCheckbox)

Checkbox Default Property = False

OnSelect Property For Button = UpdateContext({ResetCheckbox:true});UpdateContext({ResetCheckbox:false});Navigate(PORequestScreen1,ScreenTransition.Cover)

One key detail researched was my button was outside of gallery...

Now, to try out the solution for passing data from one screen to another.

View solution in original post

generally a uncheck will be something like removeif(collectionname, column=thisitem.samecolumn)

If the gallery controls you are wanting the data from are just displaying data from a source, before making the navigation just do a simple

Set(myVar, ThisItem)

Then on next screen you can referencce anything in that item by using myvar.Title, or any other .Column of info that exists in that record

Above answer can be switched to a collection if multiple items might be collected, just add each to a collection something like

If(CountRows(Filter(TeamRoundup,ID=ThisItem.ID))>0,RemoveIf(TeamRoundup,ID=ThisItem.ID),Collect(TeamRoundup,ThisItem))

in a butotn onselect can add items to a collection and remove them etc then on next screen instead of referencing a variable, just set the new gallery to this colleciton etc. not 100% sure what the final question is askign though, might need to see more

Hi @TheRobRush question 2 is referring to if a new user is using PowerApp and the checkbox wasn’t clear, it will still show checked. Therefore, I want to reset the checkbox control to false, after the button to pass data to my PO screen.

I hope that helps explain better.

Just make its Default value a variable say checkVar and when load screen in the screens onvisible onvisible set a

Set(checkVar,false)

which will make it start off as unchecked when screen is loaded.

(wrong reply)

Can also just have a non displayed column in your datasource (yes no column in sharepoint) that stores a yes/no 1/0 true/false type bit of data you can refer to each record so that the check maintains its status for each particular record over multiple visits to the app if it is supposed to be maintained based on record status long term.

Adding records is is as easy as patching them in obvs if the gallery below is showing source data, if that gallery is linked to the collection idea i gave in previous answer, then just collect additions into that, and patch the whole collection into the source data with a Patch(ForAll())) at the end when ready to submit them

But if the checkbox is merely instance based as suggested by " I want to reset the checkbox control to false, after the button to pass data to my PO screen" then yes I would simply store false in a variable and set the checkboxs default status to that variable, and then when navigating away, reset the checkbox, so when you return to it, it is clear again

Honestly, was overthingking it, could probably just set it's default to false, without a variable, and before the nav reset the checkbox, and when you return it should be false again due to default state and reset()

Yes, checkbox is instance based. As some users might not utilize, case by case basis.
