Set button Visible on one or more conditions of sharepoint list

Hello BrainTrust,

I've trawled through all the forums here and on google, and i just cant find the right answer.

Im sorry if this is going to be a long one.

I have created power app for internal use where staff can purchase ex-stock.

I have one SP list (Product Items) which is the sale items, description, Qty and price.

Another SP list (Product Order) which stores record of the purchased item (incl Staff name, QTY item, cost etc)

I have a Welcome screen, a sale Screen1 screen, Thank you Screen and Sold out Screen (that i wont need if i can get your solution to my question)

For Screen 1

I have created : 

ADD TO CART button that will show if item has a quantity of 1 or more (will add to galCart - Gallery Cart)

SOLD OUT button that will display if items are legitimately 0 quantity and cannot be clicked (does nothing)

CANNOT PURCHASE button (cannot be clicked, does nothing) I need this button to be Visible over the other two buttons  (Disallow user to order) respectively to the Laptop or mobile only IF in the Product Order list there is a record for the current user who has a previous record of 1 in Laptop and/or Mobile column.

Can someone please help me with the correct formula I have tried everything and just cant get it to work. Everything else is working in this app and is the final piece before it can go live.

Hi, if I understand correctly you want the 'Sorry you cannot purchase'-button to show if there is a row in the SP list 'Product Order' where the Staff name is equal to the logged in user, right? You would need something along the lines of:

If(CountRows(Filter('Product Order', 'Staff name' = User.Email())) > 0, TRUE, FALSE)

This formula will filter the Product Order table to find rows where the staff name-column contains the same value as the email of the user that is logged in in Power Apps. Then the CountRows()-function will count how many rows are returned. Then the If()-function will check if there are more than 0 rows returned. If so, you want the button to be visible, therefore 'TRUE', otherwise 'FALSE'.

Thank you, you did understand correctly, I have tested and it works.

However, what if there was a second condition to this, where the Staff name is equal to the logged in user AND Laptop is equal to YES.

You can extend your Filter()-function with as many filters as you want. If you want to filter for Laptop is equal to yes this could look like:

If(CountRows(Filter('Product Order', 'Staff name' = User.Email(),'Laptop' = "YES")) > 0, TRUE, FALSE)

Hello @NPPlatform , thank so very much for your assistance but unfortunately the formula you provided now is no longer working :  If(CountRows(Filter('Product Order','Created By' = User.Email(),'Laptop' = "Yes")) > 0, TRUE, FALSE)

Can you tell me please what the >0 is for? Im unsure what this is measuring.

I would like to provide you with setup again so my question is clear :

SP List - Product Order

Column - Created By (person or group)

Column - Laptop (Calculated Field)  OR Mobile (Calculated Field)

Below is calculated field formula (I can change No/Yes to 0/1 if needed)

 

On Visible 

Button "CannotPurchaseMobile"   (or "CannotPurchaseLaptop")

Show button "CannotPurchaseMobile" IF

1. "Created By" is equal to active person on app AND
2. "Mobile" is equal to Yes  (or 1) on calculated field

Show button "CannotPurchaseLaptop" IF

1. "Created By" is equal to active person on app AND
2. "Laptop" is equal to Yes  (or 1) on calculated field

Hi @Corina1 , in my first message I explained the formula as follows:

If so, you want the button to be visible, therefore 'TRUE', otherwise 'FALSE'.

So the > 0 is measuring whether CountRows() returns more than 0 results. If this is the case this means that there is at least one row that is created by the logged in user and that has the value "Yes" for the column 'Laptop'. 

The first thing to check is whether your Filter()-function actually works. You can do this by clicking in the word Filter, in your formula and then clicking on the little arrow below the formula (see screenshot below). This will show the result of the Filter()-function. As you can see in the screenshot my function Filter('Employees - Sandbox', EmployeeNumber = 1052) returns the row that is shown. If you don't see a row while you know that there is a row in the datasource that fits your filter-criteria there is something going wrong in the Filter()-function. Do you see an error somewhere in your function?
