To save to SharePoint, you need to use the Patch function. Here is a good example SPGUIDES PowerApps Patch fucntion syntax and examples.

How did you set the top bar of your screenshot with New Request, Review, Approved...

Thanks in advance

Hi Shane,

I am crazy tyring to do so when setting Var1 to blank. This is not saving, it behaves like Submit does not detect the change. Any idea how I should do?

Thanks for any help

I am new to powerapps, what i want is....I want to make a form with different fields in it like combobox, dropdown, date picker, text input, label, check box etc....so for that i want to do that with excel not with sharepoint nor with database, dataverse.....so for that i have used components under custom such that i have added everything but one thing i don't understand is i can't be able to select or put data for the text input i want the changes to be displayed in the excel. Ho am i suppose to do that

mmm... it's been awhile since I took PowerApps seriously, but from memory - you'd have to use Microsoft Flow or something like that.  PowerApps probably can't update an Excel sheet for you.

If you want to use Excel - better to just build the form in Excel (Developer Ribbon + VBA) or you can try to use Access.

Good Luck

hey, is there a way to increase the quanity in the gallery in textinput?

Hi @Shanescows, I've been learning powerapps from your videos off late.
Quick question in this context - Can I use this solution if my text input control is within a Gallery? I have a store where items are displayed in a gallery - but then I also have a text input in the gallery where they can change the quantity.

I want to validate user input where it throws an error pop-up if they enter a number less than 1 and resets the default value of only that text input to 1 (the pop-up works, but text input value can be changed to whatever the user inputs).

If I use a variable and set that variable as default for text input, will it not reset the default value for all text inputs in the gallery?
Once I have a solution to this query, I also want to add two controls (+,-) next to the text input which the users can click to increment or decrement the value in the text input - an alternate input to typing in the quantity.
I'm looking for a way to manipulate Default (/or any other property) of just that one text input without affecting other text inputs in that gallery. My understanding is that both require a way to control the default of a single text input in the gallery without affecting other text inputs (the same control) within the gallery. Attaching a screenshot if I'm not making sense.

It's 2023 and still this lame just to assign a string to a .Text property.
A simple Label1.Text = "test" on control events should be implemented!

The more I read about powerapps the more I believe this was done purposefully confusing so they can sell courses and stuff. The whole "how it works" is convoluted and deeply anti-consumer.

I'm just trying to pick up the selected fields from a couple listboxes, send the data to hidden textfields and then input them on some place (be it an excel file or somewhere else); the amount of turns and twists and dances I need to do with this... system.. is ridiculous.

What if I'm trying to update a SharePoint list item value, so basically just want to use the details form (as everything is readonly in the form which is what I want) and insert a button, when pressed, update one of the fields of this item (in this case just a text field).
