SharePoint List Column Not Appearing in PowerApps per PowerApps Data Refresh

So the title is sort of confusing, so please read the details below:

For this issue, I am using SharePoint Online. There are numerous ways to create new columns (the following is probably not an exhaustive list):

1. Go to SharePoint Custom List Settings and add column
2. On the list view page, click "+ Add column"
3. On the Quick Edit list view page, click the "+" sign (which appears to be shorthand for + Add column)

Example Scenario: I create a PowerApps called "MyPuppiesApp", which allows users to append records of puppies to my PuppyList SharePoint custom list. I later decide that I want to include "Furry" as a Boolean field. If I add it using listed method (above) 1 or 2, a PowerApps refresh will work as designed. If I use listed method 3 (adding column via Quick Edit view), PowerApps will never, ever recognize it, no matter how many times I refresh PowerApps or whether I exit Quick Edit view, subsequently refresh my browser after exiting Quick View, or populate that field with data.

In fact, in an effort to test, I've deliberately and knowingly created a column using method 3 and then subsequently created columns using methods 1 and 2, and a PowerApps data refresh will update my data source with the columns from methods 1 and 2, but the column from method 3 remains nonexistent in PowerApps--even though it was created (albeit in Quick View) chronologically before the other additional columns.

I'm not sure if this is isolated to me, but maybe some users can try this to confirm. Thanks.

I am experiencing this same issue. This is super basic and should be addressed immediately @microsoft 

How do you expect people to build dynamic Lists/Forms in PowerApps but you can't expect PowerApps to recognize when a new column has been added to your list. Ridiculous.

I had the same problem until I understood how to do it correctly. First you must add the new columns you need in the SharePoint list, then in Powerapps when you add a new field the name of what you just added in sharepoint will appear. For example, if I added to SharePoint a column with the name lastname_1 a custom field will appear in Powerapps with the lastname_1.

I hope that is what you are looking for.

Thank you! Removing the sharepoint online connector and adding it back fixed the issue for me.

I'm having the same issue but with attachments columns. I'm adding another types of column and it's appearing except this one. I tried to refresh and didn't work. Also I tried to do what somebody did in the last post and didn't work too.

Hi, I had the same issue. 

You can click o Edit Field on the right and Click on Add Field. It will give you list of all the columns not displayed on your form

its now 2023 and I have exactly the same issue when I have added a boolean field to a table. tried refreshing etc and still no joy. new columns added in my list , cant be seen when i try to add to an app or if I try to use for a lookup in another table.

Hey! It's 2024 and this problem still exists.  I added a yes/no column to a SharePoint list, which is not seen by PowerApps.  Like it type thisitem.newcolumn and get an error.  Like PowerApps does not recognize that this column exists.  I deleted that column and added in a date column, which also doesn't appear.  I have tried removing and re-adding the data source.
