Sharepoint custom form - Record value expected

Hi there,

I'm trying to create a combobox within a form which gets its data from another table called Location List.

Location List has one colums called Country. I select the data via the Item parameter through 'Location List'.Country this returns an table value.

When trying to write the choosen input into the form I first tried Combobox1.Selected this just doesn't write the data into the record.

Next I tried Combobox1.Selected.Country. Now I get an error: "Record value expected" which is kind of clear since the combobox returns an table value but I tried multiple ways, searched the internet and still don't know how to fix it.

Any solutions for this?

A Record is NOT a table. It is also not a particular value of the Column of a table.

A record is a row of a table. 

You could check this first.

Next, clarify "write the data into the record" - where are you trying to write from and where you trying to write to?
What's your data source as well by the way?

Actually I know that. Sorry my wording is probably a bit misleading.

By "Writing the data into the record" I mean filling out out the form and saving to create a new record in the list I created the custom form for.

My data source is a sharepoint list ("Location List") which contains one column ("Country").

This populates the combobox. No problem so far.

I can't figure out how to write the selected item into the Sharepoint list.

You can try either

1. SubmitForm
2. Patch
   1. May need "Patch" if you want to submit it outside the context of a PowerApps Form submission e.g. right away when the ComboBox is changed for example, or when it is desired to write the selected Item to SharePoint list without using a  PowerApps Form in the first place, or for other customized scenarios where SubmitForm is not enough.

Unfortunately this doesn't solve the problem. I will add some screenshots maybe thi at help to clearify.

Here are the Items the Combobox contains, they come from another sharepoint list:

But this happens when I try to save the form or submit it via button>SubmitForm()

This occurs when i submit the form via the button and SubmitForm() or Save

That's another way I tried which produced the error:

You may need to use the Patch function in this case.

After some more searching I found the solution by using the Choices() function. Thanks for all the help!
