Is there any other way to run code on change property

23 REPLIES 23

Thank you Bengo for your time and idea.

Sorry it did not work for me.

I followed exactly all the step as you mentioned, even I maintained the same name of the control.

the slider value changes but the code inside the component does not run.

I have a doubt that during posting the code (which was on the command button), it underline in red the Field Name,

I thought component is global, so may at the time of running it will fix, but no it does work,

Any changes to apply - As how component to recognise the field of the screen

Also please note, that after one click of Tick command which changes the slider value.

You can note in the image that slider value has change to 3 , means i have selected  two times to test

But the code does not run - As in the image in component it has obtained slider value but no action

I have tried to reconstruct your problem with my Powerapp. Is it possible for you to import my app? Your use case works for me. I have a gallery, a slider and two buttons. When I click on button 1, the slider increases and button 2 adds a row to the collection. This solution is without e component...

I upload your app, found no slider in it. As you mentioned.

Below is the app, no slider control also found.

Better, you check an example on a table, via edit form save way.

So that you can understand, adding in collection can be very quick comparison to table via edit form.

As seen in my images, that I have tick button, and a gallery based on table. under the gallery the total text field, which update of the total has to convert into words.

On Tick is submit the form and increase the slider, On slider it is based to run the button.

On the whole requirement is to covert to words according to the total.

Please check.

Sorry, i fortot to publish the app... from this reason you got a old version. Here is the new one.

Sorry,

I need to wait for tomorrow morning (as its night now here) for the permission from my IT for the new one as it is restricted in my company for external app to be uploaded.

But, was requesting you to reconstruct same as my requirement, like not to collect in collection but to use the same method - like gallery, data to be saved in table, total out side the gallery.

Reason it that you can note the real time delay in the process and capture, I mean like my app. Because collection are very quick in response and process of data holding is different than Table and Edit form method

And if possible upload here in gif, so that I can see, in that way no need upload, can be seen, as u can show the method and code in the gif as well.

Regards

:

Further to explain better, I recorded the screen.

pls. check

Hi @MIA27

Sure... :

Here is a printscreen from the app:
26-03-_2024_21-18-02.gif

When i click on 'Button 1' the slider increases by +1. The onChange from the slider triggers 'Button 2' and this button inserts a new row into the collection.

Is that the solution that you search?

Best regards

Beny

please share code used on button 1 (which increases the value of slider)

Code used on Slider on value change (which triggers the button 2 for adding collection)

also code of button 2 just for the sake of understanding what collection you are doing

Subject in concern is that on slider value change my button is not getting clicked.

But the design is the same which we are looking forward to.

very best regards and thank you for your follow up and time

Hi @MIA27

I'm sending you the codes below:

OnSelect Button 1

UpdateContext({sliderValue: sliderValue + 1})

OnChange Slider

 Select(Button1_1)

OnSelect Button1_1 (Button 2)

 Patch(colTest,Defaults(colTest),Gallery1.Selected)

OnApp Start

ClearCollect(colTest,{Title:"This ist a Test", Num: 1})

What is the trigger for clicking the 'Button 2' in your app?

King regards

Beny
