Something went wrong after importing app

Dear All,

I am trying to use the "Help desk"  sample canvas app template to make ready for environment. I have followed all the instruction as per the Microsoft document : Install and configure the Help Desk sample for canvas apps - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs

The application is successfully imported. Till "Configure the app to use the SharePoint list" step all is good.

When i try to edit the Canvas app to link my sharepoint list, i am getting an error "something went wrong while opening your app". I do not have any error messages in the screen. How do i troubleshoot to see where is the problem exist. How do i make work this Helpdesk app.

I ready somewhere i need to check the permission. What permission are needed to import and where should i make sure i have enough permission to open the application for edit.

The problem is only with the imported app. All the other canvas i created are working fine.

Please help.

To import an app, the Environment Maker permission is required on the target environment.

I'm not sure what the cause of the "something went wrong while opening your app" error is, or how the best way to diagnose it.

I'm able to load this app.

I've uploaded my msapp file here.

If you try opening this from the File > Open menu of Power Apps Studio, hopefully that will work for you.

Logged call with Microsoft. They recommended to extract the Zip file and then import only .msapp. Once done, then we can remove the flow and Sharepoint and map it with our environment. Now the app works fine.

Would you please elaborate on how you did this? PowerApps only lets me import a .zip file. I can't import only the .msapp file. I tried extracting it and putting it in its own .zip to no avail.

Hi there, Just extract the zip file. And from Powerapp, From File menu Open, Select App from this computer and then open the msapp file from extracted location. then you can modify the connections and make the application work.

Thanks for your response. I did some googling and tinkering and eventually got it to work. It took me the longest time to figure out where the flow was actually be called from. For anyone else, I believe it was on the EditTicket screen, Update button, OnSelect property. You can copy the formula, add the connection to the imported PowerAutomate flow, then paste the formula back in. Worked for me.

If you find that your AssignedTo field is not searchable, check its properties for the Allow searching toggle.

Finally, they had a typo on one of the screens that said "ASSGNED TO". You may wish to find and fix that as well.
