Split not working correctly with LookUp - PoweApps

Hello everyone. I think that there is some kind of problem in the implementation of the composition between LookUp and Split.

Here is my issue. I have a formula of the form

LookUp( NAME_OF_TABLE ,  Column = ListBox.Selected.Result )

where ListBox contains a table generated by

Split ( "one, two, three  ,  "," ).

Now, the formula Split ( "one, two, three  ,  "," ) does its job properly, that is creating the following table:

Result

one

two

three

Also, the ListBox accepts this table in its Items, without any apparent problem. I can so because I have checked, by printing on a text label the text ListBox.Selected.Result, and it works fine. (It gives me "one", "two" or "three" depending on what I select in the list box). 

So far so good.

However, the aforementioned formula

LookUp( NAME_OF_TABLE ,  Column = ListBox.Selected.Result )

does not work! It only works when I click on the first item in the list box, but not if I select any of the following ones.

It is as if the table as Split ( "one, two, three ,  "," ) would be of a different 'kind' than just ["one", "two", "three"]: a kind that is  somehow incompatible with the use of the function LookUp. Or at least does not work inside an expression.

How is that even possible? 

FYI, replacing LookUp( _ , _ )  with the equivalent First(Filter(_ , _) ) gives the very same issue.

What happens if you put ["one","two","three"] as the Items property of your listblox and use

LookUp( NAME_OF_TABLE ,  Column = ListBox.Selected.Value)

Hey, so this is gonna sound crazy because it LOOKS like it has split it correctly by one two three but I think its may have kept the prefix and suffix spaces in there but not showing them,

Could you try concat-ing them again with a trim (gets rid of spaces at either end) and then split that again like:

Split(
    Concat(
        Split(
            "one, two, three  ",
            ","
        ),
        Trim(Result),
        ","
    ),
    ","
)

There were no spaces in my original string ("one, two, three" was just an example that I was giving here.) But there was some 'going to newline', which technically are characters as well! D'uh! I feel so dumb not to have noticed that now. Thank you.
