String manipulated from Display Name is working, but how to then exclude the trailing comma ","?

Hi,

I have the below code which is resulting in proper string manipulation from an Office365Users Display Name. How do I get rid of that trailing comma "," after the manipulation? Counting characters etc won't work for people with various sized names and Display Names that have commas.

I tried & Replace, Substitute, and adding subtract Find with bad results.

For example:

Collingsworth,Mary,Mississippi,Marketing,WhateverJobTitle results in Collingsworth,Mary,

Ah,Ben,Lovitt,Finance,ReallyRichGuy results in Ah,Ben,

How do I get rid of that trailing comma "," after the manipulation? Counting characters etc won't work for people with various sized names and Display Names that have commas.

Left(ThisItem.Speaker.DisplayName, Find(",",ThisItem.Speaker.DisplayName, Find(",",ThisItem.Speaker.DisplayName)+2))

There are many ways to make that work. One of them is: 

Left(Left(Label20.Text, Find(",",Label20.Text, Find(",",Label20.Text)+2)), Len(Left(Label20.Text, Find(",",Label20.Text, Find(",",Label20.Text)+2)-1)))

Just replace Label20.Text with ThisItem.Speaker.DisplayName

I am not hard coding the length of the string, instead calculate it using Len function and then use the Left function again with Len-1

Let me know if it doesn't work.

Ka-Ching! That worked and event though I tried LEN, I would never have figure out the rest bc of that formula.

I will mark this as solved! The ultimate solution would be to inverse the displayed LastName,FirstName (as displayed) and just make it FirstName LastName. Is this possible from Display Name pulled in from People Picker Office365Users?

Yes. To keep it simple, let a label (Label23 in my example below) retain the value in the format lastname, firstname (the one we worked on in the last reply). Then use that label in the next expression I am sharing. 

Last((Split(Label23.Text, ","))).Result & " " & First((Split(Label23.Text, ","))).Result

This should give you "FirstName LastName"

Let me know if it doesn't work. And I am not claiming this to be the best way to do it, just to be clear, but it definitely does what you need it to 🙂
