Submit the Barcode Gallery data to Sharepoint using ForAll, Patch and Concat Functions

Hello Experts,

I am a beginner to PowerApps.

currently trying to create a Barcode Scanner App. the app is basically for collecting the data and arranging it based on the category.

I am facing the below issue. please help:

Q): I am trying to submit the PowerApps barcode’s gallery data to Sharepoint list. I am using ForAll, Patch and Concat functions for that:

When the data transferred to Sharepoint list, the barcodes column data are not separated properly. I don’t know how to use the concat function correctly. So far the barcodes column data are separated by “**”.

I wanted to change this and I want the barcode column data needs to make it as separate lines (line by line) in one row.

Example: the data i need on the below format using Concat function.

Serial Number

Barcode

1

2

3

35663467

24567705

57889887

Kindly assist.

Thanks.

Dear Sir,

Yes Sir, getmultiplebarcodes is connected to colNewCodes. (you created the colNewCodes formula from getmultiplebarcodes).

And the formula which you gave still not working for me.

Please Help.

@Fajna ,

How is getmultiplebarcodes connected to colNewCodes ? Also "not working for me" does not help me solve this - is there an error or does not it produce the result you require ? Can you please explain what happens when you scan the barcodes - how does the code get into the gallery ?

Hello Sir,

Thanks for your reply.

I am answering for your questions below.

Q): How is getmultiplebarcodes connected to colNewCodes ?

Ans): Initially when I created the Barcode Scanner, I gave the Collection name as “getmultiplebarcodes”.

Then later you provided another ClearCollect formula for “colNewCodes”.

So , I copied this formula and applied in Barcode Scanner and changed the Gallery collection name to “colNewCodes”.

Currently these below functions are active in my App. please look in to it.

1) In Barcode Scanner: Onscan ->

If(CountRows (Filter (getmultiplebarcodes, Value=BarcodeScanner2.Value))>O, Notify ("Duplicate Barcode. Scan Again",

Error)&Set (varmakesound, true );Reset (Audiol);,

Collect (getmultiplebarcodes, BarcodeScanner2.Value));

ClearCollect (colNewCodes, ShowColumns (AddColumns (getmultiplebarcodes, "NewCode", With({wCode: Left(Value,4)}, If (wCode="0141", Substitute(Value, wCode, "FZ"), wCode="0236", Substitute (Value, wCode, "IX"), wCode="0960", Substitute (Value, wCode, "OV"), wCode="0459", Substitute (Value, wCode, "WB"), Substitute(Value, wCode, "XH")))), "NewCode"));

2) In Gallery Collection: Items ->

With({records: colNewCodes}, ForAll(Sequence (CountRows(records)), Patch(Last(FirstN(records, Value)), (RowNumber: Value}

)))

3) Under Gallery Barcodes Reflecting label:

ThisItem.NewCode

Now I think 2 Gallery Collections are activated in my App. I don’t know how to fix that.

Could you please help me fix this.

Q): Also "not working for me" does not help me solve this - is there an error or does not it produce the result you require ?

Ans): It is showing an error when applying the above formula you provided.

The Error shows at Bold text below:

ForAll(

   Galleryl.AllItems As aCodes,

   Patch (

      'Virtual Bingo Sheet Collection',

      (

         BarCode: aCodes.NewCode,

         'No of BarCode Selected': TextInput7.Text,

         'Scanned By': TextInput3.Text,

         'Scanned Date': Now()

      }

   )

);

Q): Can you please explain what happens when you scan the barcodes - how does the code get into the gallery ?

Ans): When I scan the Barcode Scanner, The Barcodes are appearing properly to the Gallery.

I am sharing with u the images of Barcode Scanner, and Gallery Collection.

So, Hoping it will help you to find out the formula I applied on these situations.

Please Assist. I am lost.

Thank you.

@Fajna ,

From what you have posted - the gallery collection (you can shorten as below as you have more options now)

ClearCollect (
   colNewCodes,
   ShowColumns(
      AddColumns(
         getmultiplebarcodes,
         "NewCode",
         With(
            {wCode: Left(Value,4)},
            Substitute(
               Value,
                wCode,
                Switch(
				   wCode,
                   "0141",
                   "FZ"
                   "0236",
                   "IX"
                   "0960",
                   "OV"
                   "0459",
                   "WB"
                   "XH"
                  )
               )
            )
         )
      ),
      "NewCode"
   )
);

Your gallery Items can be shortened to this (I assume you are alternate shading lines here)

ForAll(
   Sequence(CountRows(colNewCodes)),
   Patch(
      Index(
         colNewCodes,
         Value
      ),
      (RowNumber: Value}
   )
)

If you now see the NewCode value in the gallery reflecting the barcode you want to add to your data source and all of the above is correct, then I have another question as to the location of the Text inputs referred to in your Patch - if they are in the gallery. If they are outside the gallery, the code I posted should work (Slightly modified below for performance and assuming 'No of barcodes selected' is a number field).

Patch (
   'Virtual Bingo Sheet Collection',
   ForAll(
      Galleryl.AllItems As aCodes,
      (
         BarCode: aCodes.NewCode,
         'No of BarCode Selected': Value(TextInput7.Text),
         'Scanned By': TextInput3.Text,
         'Scanned Date': Now()
      }
   )
);

Can you please confirm all of this.

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your reply.

Appreciate your kind help.

The above formulas are working fine.👍🏼

In Sharepoint List, I want all those scanned Barcodes are under one row.

But currently in Sharepoint List, each barcodes are capturing in each different rows along with other details

The Text inputs referred to in Patch are outside of the Gallery.

I tried the Concatenate function, but its not helping.

How can I achieve that?

Please Assist.

Thanks

@Fajna ,

You are actually better patching from the Collection (which is the Items of the Gallery anyway) - this will put a comma between them

Patch (
   'Virtual Bingo Sheet Collection',
   {
      BarCode:
      Concat(
         colNewCodes,
         NewCode,
         ", "
      ),
      'No of BarCode Selected': Value(TextInput7.Text),
      'Scanned By': TextInput3.Text,
      'Scanned Date': Now()
   }
)

Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.

Dear Sir,

Thank you so much…

Its working perfectly now.

I really appreciate your support.

”You are the gem of this community”

Thanks again..

Dear Sir,

I have one last situation.

I have added trashcan Icon inside the Barcode Gallery to delete the barcode item.

I added all the formulas with confirmation popup. and when I delete the items, it’s getting deleted from the Gallery as well.

But when I scan the next or new barcode,  deleted barcode is reinstated and showing again to its original place along with the scanned barcode.

The formulas mentioned below.

1): In Trashcan: OnSelect ->

Set(varShowDelete, true);

2): In YES Dialogue Box: OnSelect ->

RemoveIf(colNewCodes,NewCode=Gallery1.Selected.NewCode,varShowDelete);

Set (varShowDelete, false);

Images uploaded below for reference.

How can I solve this.

Needs your kind help on this.

Thanks
