Dear Powerappers,
I have a strange bug in my PowerApp.
I have a form in my powerapp with two fields.
When I enter a value in the first field and press the enterkey, the OnChange function will set the focus on the second field.
That works very good so far.
In my second field, the OnChange funktion submits the form to my sharepointlist, creates a new form and sets the focus back on the first field.
That works in most tries. But sometimes the text in the second field is not cleared after the new form is created.
I've tried to add a "Resetform" after I create the new form, but that don't fix the problem.
I've also tried to blank the value of the second field, after I leave the first one, but that works not either.
I use the OnChange funktion and not a submit button, because I have to enter the values with a barcodescanner that sends an enterkey after the value.
My biggest question is, why it works sometimes fine and sometimes not...
A further test that I did already is, to check the value of the second field.
I've set the second field as must-fill field and added a submit button with the same function as the OnChange.
So when the failure is coming up, I have pressed the submit button and then there is an error, that I have to fill the second field.
The last value is still in the second field, but I can not submit. So the form shows a value, that is not really in the field.
When I delete the value and fill the same text in that field again, the submit was accepted.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @Drrickryp ,
Thank you for your answer!
I have tried your suggest now, but that don't work neither.
I think I have a solution. I have add a timer and set the NewForm() command in the OnTimerEnd funktion.
So the new Form will be genereate after one second.
Greetings
Cedrik
The fully solution is, that you have to add two timers.
After you press the enterkey in the last field, the first timer should start, submit the form and start the second timer with the OnTimerEnd function. The second timer should create a new form with the OnTimerEnds function.
I set the duration of both timers of 0,25 seconds.
Hi @PowerApper_RS ,
Could you try and add a Reset(DataCardValue2) after the SubmitForm(Form1)?
Greetings,
Marc
Never chain commands after a SubmitForm(). They don't necessarily execute in series and they should not execute at all unless the form is successfully submitted. Instead, put any commands to execute after SubmitForm() in the OnSuccess property of the form.
Hi Marc,
thank you for your anwser!
I tried it aleready to add a Reset() or a Clear () and to set the Default to "" or Clear().
Greetings,
Cedrik
