Suggestions for building a budget interface to calculate invoices

Hello,

I am interested in creating a straightforward budget interface for a client information app. Currently, I have an app that primarily deals with basic client company information. Now, I want to integrate a simple budget interface to calculate invoices. The idea is to have choice columns that allow users to select multiple options, with each selection adding an additional cost to the invoice.

For example, let's consider a choice column called "Sales Channels." If the user selects only one option, like "Amazon," the invoice amount would be $200. However, if the client decides to add "eBay" as an additional sales channel, we would select "eBay" as well in the choice column, and the invoice would then increase to $250.

What is the best column type and structure to complete this?

Hi @dcastillo1 ,

I am assuming SharePoint is your data source here as it is not mentioned in your question. You have to use a combo box for your Sales Channel irrespective which option you choose from the below as it should support multi-select functionality.

1. If you have less number of options in the sales Channels then you can create them as Choices(Multi-select Choice in SP List) and hard code the values of cost(price for each channel in the App).

2. You can create a collection within the App and configure values for , each Sales Channel.

3. If you want to make it configurable from SharePoint then, you can use a separate SP list to store Channels in one column and the price associated with that in another. 

And the invoice Value/column should take a sum of lookup values of the price for each sales channel.

The same Approach works for data verse as well. You can use any of the above mentioned solution that you feel is better for you.
