Hello! I'm pretty new with power Apps, so i was doing an app that submits a form, and i have this SharePoint list:
1. is a column choice to specify like the seniority (senior, manager etc.)
2. i have several columns that are the months (like January charged hours in that month)
3. what I'm trying to do next is make the calculations of like , let's say sum up all the charged hours by the seniority lvl, and show it in a column. I'm trying to figure out how to do this, i was thinking to maybe show the sums only on the power apps but not in the SharePoint list or maybe do the calculations with a flow but I'm not sure if it is possible to do this?, or maybe there is others options i don't know of, and once i can finally find a way to do all this calculations and have the totals do a Power Bi report maybe, any help will be appreciated, Thanks.

Can you elaborate a little more on what it is that you are trying to calculate?
In general you can do all of this in PowerApps. If you want to do more with that data at another time (i.e. PowerBI), then you will want to store this in your list or some other place that is appropriate.
I'm sorry if i didn't explain myself well, but I'm trying to calculate, the total of hours charged by every seniority.
Example:
In my SP I have the columns (hours charged by each month of the year), and then a choice column that shows me the seniority lvl. so i have to gather up all the choices that are seniority, and all the charged hours by each month of this seniority and sum all up to know the total in the year of how many charged hours that seniority has.
i have severals seniority lvls and i have to do it on all of them.
Did i explain it better this time?
@Anonymous
Yes! And much different than I gathered from the first post. In the first post, you indicated a form, so the assumption I came to was that you wanted to have some of this in the form. It does not sound like that is the case.
So, to be more specific - your statement " so i have to gather up all the choices that are seniority, and all the charged hours by each month of this seniority and sum all up to know the total in the year of how many charged hours that seniority has. " ... For What?? What are you summing these up for? A Power BI report? An entry in a list? Something in your App??
Not sure what you want to do with the final sum.
Is just For display purpose, i want to see the details of the final totals in my app after i charged everything. But since i do have a SP list i also would like the data to be saved in that list, so i can do a power BI report. But since I'm new to all this i don't know what is the best approach to do this.
@Anonymous
Well...there are a lot of unknows to your scenario - and a lot of "why" questions.
You mention you want to see this as a display value (label) in your app, but you also want to have it stored in the List.
So...if it is stored in the list, then you would simply display that value. If it is not already "calculated", then it would need to be done - either through the app or through a PowerAutomate flow to populate the List value.
The question then becomes...would this calculation change? Is it a calc once and done, or calc all the time type of thing?
The calculation won't change, it would be always the same but it needs to be updated yearly so like it can be done in every year but is the same thing in all the years to come
@Anonymous
This sounds then like something you would do as either part of a separate app (meant for "maintaining" your calculations) or in a PowerAutomate flow on a yearly basis.
At that point, I would suggest the calculations be stored in a completely separate list that would simply store those calcs.
