Timer Help ...Please

Hi Guys,

I have created a relatively simple app for Incident Manangement. I would like to place a time that works independently for each item created . The time will sit in the Gallery record and should be started when the record is created from another screen within the app.

Any idea on how to achieve this please?. I would suspect that the timers should still keep their "own" time when new records are created. A screenshot for context.

@RandyHayes - You have been my hero before !!! Any assistance here plzzz??

Appreciate any help. Thanks

Easier than you might think here 🙂

With({minutesbetween:DateDiff(TimeValue(ThisItem.'FirstOccurence'),TimeValue(Now()),Minutes)},With({minutesleftover:Mod(minutesbetween,60)},(minutesbetween - minutesleftover)/60 & " hours " &minutesleftover)) & " minutes"

If that has solved your issue if you can mark as solution 🙂

What is the purpose of the timer? Is it a count down?

Are they counting down against the time the incident was logged? So the top one they have 15 minutes from 07:08am?

Thanks MJ84,

I was considering a countdown.. but have rather gone for a runtime counter/ timer.... Would ultimately like the the timer to flash after a certain time is reached based on the value of another column value...but i guess will just be happy with the timer running for now...

Actually to expand on that idea.. It would be great to have a timer that does countDOWN from the date /time created. The time would be dependent on the "created" record time as shown. Then the timer would RESET after an edit is made to a form that is connected to that particular record. The use case is for incident management and would give the operator an indication as to when another update to the incident / record is required.

Not sure if something like this would be helpful I don't think the timer input would be compatible with what you are wanting to do but someone might suggest otherwisse...

At the moment the below looking at a date field and then looks at the time now to find out the difference but you could flip it so that the Date field is a "modified on" field and then have another date field called "modified due" which calculates X amount of time after the modified on..

This could definitely be helpful . Thank you. I seem to be also having an issue with the Scroll feature on an edit form connected to the gallery i am trying to add the time on too so i think i will abandon that idea.

Trying to understand where you would put that formula in your diagram ? Would i need to add a Text Label in the gallery record?

Apologies yes the above example is in a text label inside the gallery

Got it thank you! Works Great!. Any way of possibly turning the minutes in Hours and Minutes ? There may be instances when the runtime exceeds a few hours maybe days so would like to break it down to something more "understandable".. Thanks for your help!

Try this one so put you start date where "thisitem.date" is and your end date where "Now()" is

WOW! thats the most complex formula i've ever seen!!!. Thank you...i may have copied it incorrectly though as i do get an error or two... Not sure i understand your instruction to input "start date" where thisitem.date is... is that the datacardvalue for the date/time field i have? ..also i dont have an end date.. I just want the time FROM the start date to display.. Hope i make sense ..🙈
