Toggle Field and Popup confirmation not working.

I looked and tried many possible solutions to solve problems listed below, but nothing seems to work.  I'm hoping someone is able to help.  TYIA.

I have a toggle field called Status that is Open or Closed with default being Open.  In edit mode, when user changes toggle from open to closed, a pop up message appears:

The problems are:

  • after changing status toggle to Closed, the pop up appears and when click NO button, the status should return to open (the default) before submitting edit.  Currently it remains closed. How to keep status as open with the No button.
  • The default toggle value should be Open (true), but when entering a new record the initial toggle value is closed (false).  How to make status always be Open when entering new record?
  • When editing an existing record, the toggle value should match what is in the detail screen, but it does not:

@SMiller3 - assuming your data source is SharePoint, and the data type for your Status column is a Yes/No field.

1. On the UnCheck property of the Toggle control, enter:

UpdateContext({ctx_show_dialog: ThisItem.'Yes or No Column'})

2. On the Visible property of your pop-up dialog, enter:

ctx_show_dialog

3. On the OnSelect property of your "No" Button control, enter:

UpdateContext({ctx_show_dialog: !ctx_show_dialog})

4. On the Default property of your Toggle enter:

If('Your Form'.Mode = FormMode.New, true, Parent.Default)

@SMiller3 - despite reading your reply a few times, unfortunately I cannot understand it because I cannot recreate the issues you have described.

However, another thing I would suggest is when the pop up dialog appears when the user chooses to close an open record, the toggle should default back to open (it's original state).

To do this, add a Button inside the DataCard and enter:

Reset(Toggle1)

Then hide the button.

On the "No" Button inside the Pop Up, enter slight change below into the OnSelect property:

UpdateContext({ctx_show_dialog: !ctx_show_dialog});
Select(ResetButton)

Thank you, Imran-Ami, for your assistance.

I tested out your solution.  It works when changing the status of an open record to close; the buttons work as intended.   But there will be occurrences where the user changes the status of a closed record back to open, or one that was closed and then changed to open, and want to close again.  For those it's not behaving as expected.  For example:

When editing existing record with closed status, edit form has status as open.  Sometimes the opposite is also true: record with open status will open in edit with closed status. Could it be using the toggle value from a previous record instead of the current record?

SMiller3_0-1707765711600.pngSMiller3_1-1707765711602.png

If a closed record is edited to open and saved, and then change my mind and go back in to change status back to closed, the status in edit is already closed instead of open and the popup box appears.  I did not change anything – just clicked the pencil to edit.

Any suggestions for how to make it work properly in these situations?
