I'm generating sharepoint folders from existing record names using Canvasapp. My issue is, sharepoint cannot generate folders when the folder name has whitespace at the start.

Existing Records will have names that vary the amount of whitespace at the beginning and end (e.g. " Test Record 1 "). I need to to be able to trim this in canvas app to be "Test Record 1 ", keeping the white space at the end if it exists.

The 'TrimEnd' function in powerapps will remove the spaces at the end, these are required so I cannot use that.

This also must be done on the canvas app side, I cannot rely on power automate to do this.

Does anyone have suggestions? To summarize:

-Need to Trim whitespace at the start of a string.

-The amount of whitespace will vary so I cannot rely on a specific length

-I need to keep any whitespace at the end of the text

Why not use Trim() function ?

Trim() is described as "Removes all spaces from the start and end of a string and extra spaces from within the string.". I don't think this would work with my issue.

Yes this will trim start and end but nothing between so you want to leave space on end and that's the problem ?

I will be honest nothing coming to my mind what will help with this I don't know why I would want to have any space on start or at end If it's to match I will just Trim both columns and that's me 🙂

Thanks anyway.

The reason I require space at the end, is so the app can find existing folders in sharepoint generated OOTB using dynamics 365. These use the record name but only rim spaces at the start, not the end.

@AMD will the whitespaces at the end vary or will it be one if there is one else none.

Maybe use trim to remove all spaces then use concat to add a space to it at the end.

Was in a hurry so did not tested it.
