Unable to Run Patch on an Attendance App

Hi, I am trying to create an attendance app on PowerApps. Its a simple application which captures Employee ID, Employee Name and has two buttons Punch In and Punch out. On SharePoint I have the list with Date, Employee ID, Employee Name, Time In (Punch In) and Time Out (Punch Out). I am using the below patch on Punch In button:

Patch('EHS Attendance',Defaults('EHS Attendance'),{Title:User().FullName,Date:Today(),'Employee ID':'Employee ID Text Box','Employee Name':'Employee Name Text Box', 'Time In':Now(),'Time Out':Blank()})) Notify("Punch In Successful!", NotificationType.Success); ResetForm('EHS Attendance 1')

I end up getting an error as "Field 'Timeout' is required". I don't really know what I am doing incorrect.  If anyone can please help me resolve this and also, let me know what I did wrong here it would be a great help. Also, if possible help me out with the punch out button patch as well. I do have it written, but it also is having an error.

Hi @mohdabrar,

First think to check would be if your Sharepoint list has TimeOut as a required field. If so, take that out so it will accept a blank value.

Hi @Sickle-Cell Thank you. Yeah, it was a required field, I have changed that now, however, it has now run into another error, The Error I get is : "Network error when using patch function: The requested operation is invalid."

Hi @mohdabrar,

I've noticed your code has an extra bracket, so I've removed that. Try the below and let me know if it works. If this doesn't function, I suspect the issue is down to the content types your list is configured to accept compared to what you're patching over

    Date:Today(),
    'Employee ID':'Employee ID Text Box',

Hi @mohdabrar,

My best guess is that it might be your Date column. You're passing a Date to a text column, that might be the problem. Try converting it to text before you pass it or change the Date column to accept proper dates and try again.

Hi, Thanks for helping. I have no clue whats wrong. this doesn't work either. However, here's the catch. For the time out button I put in the below formula and it seems to be working:

UpdateIf('Fatorah Attendance','Employee Name'='Employee Name' && IsBlank(Button2),{'Time Out':Now()});Notify("Punch Out Successful!",NotificationType.Success);Reset('Employee Name');

(I redid the names so there will be changes.)

And I am using this for Time In and this doesn't work.

Patch('Fatorah Attendance',Defaults('Fatorah Attendance'),{Title:User().FullName, Date:DatePicker1,'Employee ID':'Employee ID','Employee Name':'Employee Name','Time In':Now(),'Time Out':Blank()})

@Sickle-Cell Tried changing date column to date and vice versa, Doesn't seem to budge.
