Hi @Ronni_Bert ,

I've tested this a couple of times now and working ok at my end. I've added the following code to the OnSelect property of my button (email addresses changed):

MicrosoftTeams.CreateChat(
    "user1@email.com;user2@email.com",
    {topic: "Testing new chat creation with Power Apps"}
)

This creates a brand new Chat in Teams with myself and the members selected in the Power Fx:

I'd expect you'd have to physically then add a message to the chat for the users to then see it on their end. I think at present you can only automate posting of messages to group chats with the Flow Bot, but not 100% sure.

Hi @Ronni_Bert ,

I've tested this function at my end. It does work, but it's designed to create a new Group chat I think. I firstly tried to ping 1 individual user to see if it added a message to the existing thread. it didn't work:

MicrosoftTeams.CreateChat("user.one@emailaddress.com",{topic: "Hello"})

So I tried with multiple addresses and it worked. The text put into the 'topic' parameter is what the new group chat will be renamed to in your Teams client:

MicrosoftTeams.CreateChat("user.one@emailaddress.com;user.two@emailaddress.com",{topic: "Hello"})

The syntax doesn't need your own email address, just the users you want to start a chat with. For reference, here is a good blog post with setting up the CreateChat function in Power Apps.

Hi @Ronni_Bert ,

Just checking what the 'initialText' part is of your syntax? When I open a curly bracket in the function on my end, the only option I get is topic, which is the property to rename the chat when created.

cdwhite_0-1694527381318.png

Power Apps lets me add 'initialText' and doesn't give me any warnings, but doesn't appear to be a recognised parameter for the Power Fx function. This might be why it's still not working for you.
