Hello,
We have built and published our first model-driven Power App to App Source. I am trying to install this product in a secondary tenant to validate the installation procedure is working properly. The issue I am running into is that when I try and install the application something is silently failing.
Procedure:
1) Navigate to Make.PowerApps.com
2) Open my desired environment
3) Navigate to App Source using the button provided in the solutions tab
4) Find my app and click the Get it Now button.
5) I am re-directed to make.powerapps with a popup asking me to select my environment
6) I select the desired environment and accept licensing terms and conditions
7) Click Install
After clicking install the Install button gets a spinning circle for one to two seconds then goes back to saying Install and nothing happens. This is the screen I am stuck on:
I have tried this same procedure in the tenant in which development of this application took place and see the same behavior. The one difference is that in the development tenant I can see the application listed in the Dynamics 365 Apps list in the Admin Center, I cannot see this in my alternate tenant I am trying to deploy to for testing purposes.
If I try to install from the Dynamics 365 Apps list in my developer tenant I do finally see an error message although it is not very helpful. The message states "This app can't be installed because its packages aren't compatible with this environment."
We have seen that a few potential customers have clicked the Get It now link on our posting but have not installed the application. We are concerned others are experiencing this same issue with our product and would like to get the bottom of this ASAP. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Can you check if the (default) environment is selected on the other tenant?
If this is the case, could you try the install on some environment other than the default environment?
To change the environment, click here to change it on upper right of make.powerapps.com:
Then from the flyout, click the other environment.
For example, in the above, I have the wrong environment selected, the "default" environment, and I should preferably not attempt to install any AppSource solutions here, if possible.
If you don't have another environment, you should provision a new environment with Dataverse fully provisioned. After that is done, then select that environment. To provision new environment, go to https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/.
For more detail how to do it, check here:
Create and manage Environments - docs.microsoft.com
One more thing to check:
If it is a solution for Dataverse, make sure the selected environment is not a Dataverse for Teams, but instead a Dataverse environment.
For more info, check here:
Dataverse for Teams - docs.microsoft.com
The Dataverse for Teams is different than Dataverse, so the AppSource solution may fail to install over there.
Check to see if this is the case for you.
If you still have an issue, it may be a number of other things, check though if these things help, if not see if you can provide more detail about the environment type on both tenants, you can check this on https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/.
See if it helps @Doxelnaut
Thank you for the suggestions and quick response to my post!
In both tenants I have tried installing to, I am using an environment separate from the default. I have provisioned new environments in both tenants for this testing and both are configured as Dataverse environments (not Dataverse for Teams) with databases provisioned during creation. In my development tenant environment I have gone as far as installing other solutions we have built along side the one I am trying to install from App Source by manually importing the solution to make sure licensing and other configuration is done properly and the manually imported solutions install without a hitch.
Are you attempting to use Sandbox environment?
You may have to use a production environment if your solution is using Power Apps Portals in any way.
For a sandbox and production version of the environment containing the solution, you may need two production environments, one for "sandbox", and one for "production"
You can check more detail here:
PowerApps Portal in Sandbox Environment
See if it helps @Doxelnaut
If this did not work, try to check if you have a Power Apps Per User License at least - or a proper license in target environment. For more info check here:
I have tried installation in both Sandbox and Production environments. The latest configuration I have is Production. We are not using Portals in this solution and I have confirmed both tenants have a Power Apps Per User License which is active.
@Doxelnaut I try the steps you provided on the solution shown in the screenshot.
I also got it doing nothing like you.
I saw the hidden error somewhere
"AppSourceEntitlementNotFound"
I'll see if I can check on it and see if I can get more detail. I do not know if this is the same error you get, but I seem to also get an issue when trying to install this specific solution from AppSource. However, I am quickly testing right now, and I am not sure the error I get may be caused by something else on my end, so I may have to check it more.
Was a solution ever found for this ? I am currently experiencing a similar issue. I have submitted and passed certification steps. I am now trying to test the appsource preview. During the appsource preview install, after clicking "Install" it also just hangs. Inspecting the network requests, there is a 400 error code with error "AppSourcePackagesNotFound"
@ksyarifudinI had to rebuild our app source package as there was something wrong with the one we were originally trying to install, even though it passed app source validation. After the rebuild and testing through the local app deployer tool this package started installing properly.
While I found a few issues with our original package I believe the culprit here was we were missing the <SupportedCountries> section in our input.xml file. The support person I was working with at Microsoft mentioned needing a package for my region and this led me to this discovery. I hope that helps you resolve your issue. I will mention that we are still facing issues with installing from appsource but they are different than the one I described here in this thread.
@Doxelnaut Thanks for your reply!
Which app deployer tool did you use? I've been using the deploy using the CLI, using the pac package deploy command.
e.g. pac package deploy --package ./path/name.1.0.0.pdpkg.zip
The package deployed successfully.
I'm also wondering if I may be missing something in the package ? Does it look correct ?
This is what my folder structure looks like.
