Unable to use ";;" in my OnSelect statement. "Unexpected characters"

Hello, I am trying to make 3 formulas occur in a sequence when using a Button in Power APPs. I have the formulas in the "OnSelect":

My code look like this (when I try to use ";;")

If(IsBlank(FieldOnMyPageInAPP),false, Set(Variable, FieldInMyAPP.Text))

;;If(IsBlank(FieldInMyAPP),false, Navigate(NextPageInMyAPP))

;;If(CountRows(Filter('Table, Key =Variable)) = 1, Set(Variable2, true), Set(Variable2, false))

However I get the error message on the ";;"

: "Unexpected Characters. Characters are used in an unexpected way."

And when I hover on the "IF" statements to the right of the ";;" I get the following message:

"Expected Operator. We expect an operator such as +,*, or & at this point in the formula"

I can use regular ";" without any errors, but the formulas are not executed in the correct sequence. I do not have the option to split these formulas into multiple buttons or pages. They all need to be triggered from this button.

Can anyone explain why I cannot use the ";;" ?

@PhilipL

In English, ";;" has no meaning as an operator.

How do you know they are not executed in the right sequence?

Do you mean that the third line is not executing?

Because the Variable is not created in time, so the other statements are "false" instead of true.

I have seen several Power APP community instruction and Microsoft community representatives saying it does. Such as can be found in this post: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Two-Functions-in-Button/td-p/14110  or such as : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/global-apps

But what function am i to use then if I want the code to run in sequence?

Basically the first statement create a variable. That variable is then used in the other two statements. However, when I use the button, the later two functions is not using the variable value but rather "null". If I first press to button and creates the Variable and the other two function fail. Then I can click on the button again and it will work, because the variable is then existing when the other two functions runs.

I am certain it is about the sequence of the functions. I have tested it a lot before writing the post and if I break the code down into 3 temp buttons and do them one at the time, it works. It is only when they are all in the same button it doesn't work.

Those instructions are only for use when your locale is not English.

In English comma is your separator, in many non-english locales ; is the separator

in English ; is the end-line function, in many non-english locales ;; is end-line function

//We can combine the two checks you were doing before
If(
   !IsBlank(FieldInMyAPP.Text),
   Set(VariableName, FieldInMyAPP.Text);
   //Navigate should be your last action, so I moved this other up here
   Set(Variable2, (CountRows(Filter('Table, Key = Variable)) = 1));
   Navigate(NextPageInMyAPP);
);

I have tried this, but it does not work. The Set(variable2) statement is still running before the Variable from the previous function is done. So the Set(variable2) statement becomes false always because the Filter(Table, Key = Variable) in fact becomes Filter(Table, Key = null).

Its like the "Set(VariableName, FieldInMyAPP.Text);" needs 1-2 sec to complete while the: "Set(Variable2, (CountRows(Filter('Table, Key = Variable)) = 1));"  is running instantly after the other statement starts, not finishes.

What does it show on a Monitor session for the sequence order? It can't be disputed from there as those are the literal in-order functions as they were executed by the platform.

If you aren't going to use the variable elsewhere you could get rid of it altogether and just reference the text field in the filter.

If(
   !IsBlank(FieldInMyAPP.Text),
   Set(Variable2, (CountRows(Filter('Table name', Key = FieldInMyAPP.Text)) = 1));
   Navigate(NextPageInMyAPP);
);
