Update Sharepoint list from Gallery List of Items

Hi Team,

I am facing an issue while updating SharePoint list while patching gallery items, only one record is updating with

the below onSelect formula.

If(!IsBlank(DataCardValue21.Selected.Value) && !IsBlank(DataCardValue1.Text),
ForAll(
Gallery2.AllItems,
Patch(
'VARIATION UPDATE',
LookUp('VARIATION UPDATE','Variation Final Source'=Gallery2.Selected.Result),
{
'Variation Ref No': DataCardValue3.Text,
Date: DataCardValue4.SelectedDate,
'Variation Description': DataCardValue1.Text
}
)
);
);

And, the sharepoint list which needs to update is as follows

How we can resolve this issue, please advise.

Try the below - note the second test at the top is in the gallery, so it cannot go up there.

If(
   !IsBlank(DataCardValue21.Selected.Value),
   ForAll(
      Gallery2.AllItems As aPatch,
      Patch(
         'VARIATION UPDATE',
         {'Variation Final Source': aPatch.Result},
         {
             'Variation Ref No': aPatch.DataCardValue3.Text,
             Date: aPatch.DataCardValue4.SelectedDate,
            'Variation Description': aPatch.DataCardValue1.Text
         }
      )
   )
)

Sorry, it doesn't work as i didn't give full information earlier.

I have 2 lists named Variation update & Variation Register,

While creating  new or editing the existing record in Variation Register List, we need to update the Variation update list against the matching values of Variation final source (from Variation update list - Gallery2) which are Variation No, Date & Variation Description  (to Variation Register list - Form1).

Hi @Shamsheer ,

As you can appreciate, I cannot see your data structure, but one thing I need to know is what the relationship (key matching field) is between the value in Gallery2 and the list 'VARIATION UPDATE'. From your initial post, it appeared that Result (assuming you have a Distinct filter in there somewhere) in the Gallery matches the field 'Variation Final Source', but it appears this may not be the case.

I also need to know the significance of the two test fields you had at the top as one is in the gallery and one is outside.

Hi Warren,

Gallery2's datasource is 'Variation Update' only

@Items: Distinct(SelectedItems,'Variation Final Source')

and SelectedItems is from Collection of Galler1

Variation Update - List

And, We need to update three fields of Variation update when

'Variation Update'.Variation Final Source'=Gallery2.Selected.Result

And, we need to collect this 3 fields data from Form1 data which is 'Variation Register'

At Present, one record is updating successfully with the formula used in my initial post, but need to have update of  all  the gallery selected records.

Hi Warren,

While applying the above formula, it asks Title is required, by adding Title, it is creating new record instead of updating the existing.

I have changed my existing formula with your idea of passing (Result) instead of Gallery2.Selected.Result and it works. Thanks!.
