Updating Column from Canvas App

I have a Canvas App, with different section and a SPO list with Status Column ( Single line of text) which gets updated from PowerApps.
These Status column gets updated in sequence. After a user submits a request the Status is Submitted. This works fine (default value for new item).
When the Status is Submitted, the next user (Approver A ) gets notified the request is submitted, and go complete the next section.
Approver A opens the item from the gallery, and he than either selects yes or no on one of the datacard of the section. If the status is submitted and the datacard value is yes(Approver A selects this option ),when Approver A save the form than I want the status to be updated to Waiting For Approver B.

So my goal is if Status equals Submitted and Datacard value ( Approver A makes this selection) is yes, update the column to Waiting on Approver B. If status equals Waiting on Approver B  and one of the datacard value is yes update the status column to Waiting on Approver C and so on after the form is saved.

Try using something like below onSelect property of a button for changing status to "Waiting on Approver B" - 
If(LookUp(ListName, ID=Gallery.Selected.ID, Status) = "Submitted" && DataCardValueNumber.Selected.Value = "Yes", Patch(ListName, LookUp(ListName, ID=Gallery.Selected.ID, { Status : {Value: "Waiting on Approver B"} })

Assuming DataCardValueNumber is of type choice
You can apply this same logic for updating status values at different levels.

The error while hovering over the red line is, This type of this argument 'Status' does not match the expected type 'Text'. Found type 'Record'.

Apologies, I thought Status column is of type Choice. Please use below updated formula - 
If(LookUp('Task List', ID = gal_myRequest.Selected.ID, Status) = "Submitted" && DataCardValue73.Selected.Value ="Yes", Patch('Task List', LookUp('Task List', ID = gal_myRequest.Selected.ID) , {Status: "Waiting on Approver B"}) )

Hi @NandiniBhagya20  , that seems to clear out the error but when I click Submit button nothing happens. I have the code below on OnSelect property of the submit button. It needs to submit the form and navigate back to gallery.

If(LookUp('Task List', ID = gal_myRequest.Selected.ID, Status= "Submitted" )&& DataCardValue73.Selected.Value ="Yes", Patch('Task List', LookUp('Task List', ID = gal_myRequest.Selected.ID) , {Status: "Waiting on Approver B"}) )

I think there is an issue with closing parenthesis in LookUp function - 
If(LookUp('Task List', ID = gal_myRequest.Selected.ID, Status) = "Submitted"  && DataCardValue73.Selected.Value ="Yes", Patch('Task List', LookUp('Task List', ID = gal_myRequest.Selected.ID) , {Status: "Waiting on Approver B"}) ) ; Navigate(GalleryScreenName)

Just try selecting "LookUp('Task List', ID = gal_myRequest.Selected.ID, Status)" and "DataCardValue73.Selected.Value" in the formula written in OnSelect property of the button to check the value that we are getting from control - DataCardValue73 and Status value from list.

When I used the formula above, it updates the separate column called Approved with Yes ( DataCardValue73.Selected.Value) as expected, but the Status column is not updating .

Also after I save and go back to the form, I see a error in formula ( Tran Number is required), Tran Number is a required column which user inputs while submitting a request. 

Appreciate you sticking with it to get it resolved.

Let's move Patch formula to form's OnSuccess property - If(LookUp('Task List', ID = FormName.LastSubmit.ID, Status) = "Submitted"  && DataCardValue73.Selected.Value ="Yes", Patch('Task List', LookUp('Task List', ID = FormName.LastSubmit.ID) , {Status: "Waiting on Approver B"}) ) ; Navigate(GalleryScreenName) ; ResetForm(FormName)

And use SubmitForm(FormName) function in OnSelect property of Submit button.
User has to fill in all the mandatory fields like Tran Number.

Hi @NandiniBhagya20 , Its still the same. Tran Number is already there. The user cannot initially submit a form without this number. 

It updates the record with the Yes value to the appropriate column, but the Status column is not updating.

There is one more thing you can do - Add Status column to your form. Make visibility to hidden. To Default property of the control - datacardvalue inside Status datacard you can add below formula - 
If(LookUp('Task List', ID = gal_myRequest.Selected.ID, Status) = "Submitted"  && DataCardValue73.Selected.Value ="Yes", "Waiting on Approver B", Parent.Default) 
In OnSelect property of the button, use SubmitForm function.
