Updating a checklist from planner

Hi, 

I have a planner connector in my app and I'm trying to update the subtasks.

Is it possible to tick of a checklist item from a task?

Hi @MathiasGijsels ,

Do you want to update the checklist item for a specified task(from planner) in a Canvas app?

If yes, you can use Flow to help you achieve this purpose. I did a test on my side for you reference.

1. I have a gallery called “Gallery2” that shows my tasks in a plan.

2. There is a checklist item called “complete testA” inside task1, and I want to update this checklist item.

3. Create a new “Instant cloud flow”:

4. Create this flow like below(if you have more than one checklist items for one task, you should type the“Checklist Title” manually in below flow. if you have just one checklist item, you can directly use the variable):

5. Go back to the app, add a button and set its OnSelect property to(the name of my flow is “Task_checklist”, you can also directly enter task_id here):

Task_checklist.Run(Gallery2.Selected.id)

This time, if you select task1 in the gallery and then click the button, its checklist item will be updated.

If you select task2 and click the button, task2's checklist item will be updated:

Use Microsoft To-Do if you have Exchange Online email, it pulls in all your planner tasks into one view within a larger todo tool. Flagged emails from Outlook also appear there and you can create and share other todo lists

So is there truly no other way to update the isChecked directly from the Powerapp other than to use Power Automate?  There is a Planner.UpdateTaskDetails(taskid,{checklist: {xxxx}})  but I've tried every format I can think of to enter into the xxxx for the checklist - but none of the schemas seem to work 

This is the basic:

When I try the second format, it loses the isChecked value - can't find it; in using the first one, I get Bad Connection - Something wrong with the schema.

This is a very well documented solution and I appreciate what you've done. But for anyone reading this at Microsoft, why would we have to go through this much trouble to add a subtask. This "low code" solution makes me think everyone should just go into programming and forget about PowerApps.

Recent updates in the Planner connector supports updating checklist of a task within PowerApps.

Here is the format:

Planner.UpdateTaskDetailsV2(

@taskid, -- This is the ID of the task itself

title:@checklistTitle, -- This is the title of the checklist item belongs to this task

I am also looking into getting my Planner Task Checklist Items in to Power Apps. 

I am not getting your syntax to work though, in what functionality do you use this? 

The intellisense does not recognize checklist or anything near it. 

Also, did you have to define ChecklistItemId & ChecklistTitle first? What are these syntax's ?
