Upload multiple files to sharepoint document library and update column with link

Dear all,

For a medical app, i need to upload multiple files like Xray, ECG etc for a patient. Since Sharepoint does not support multiple attachments column for single record, i want them to upload the image files to document library and also put the link in sharepoint list under their columns. Kindly please assist as i have never used attachment controls.

Your "link" field in the Library needs to be Text or Numeric and match a unique identifier in the "main" list. I use a numeric column with the ID in a field I call IDRef. It is then a simple LookUp.

If you are using a hyperlink in the main list, how are you storing multiple file references?

That is where I do not know how to handle this control. I see in many blogs attachments are patched to a seperate list.

But in my scenario I thought it is better to store to the attachment together with patient details in the same SharePoint list. But due to the limit of SharePoint on which I cannot have more than one attachment column I use SharePoint document library to store attachment using flow. I used a textbox to store the file link and I passed it to hyperlink colum using patch statement.

It seems you got how I made it based on the question you asked.

So now i want to know can i store multiple attachment along with my record using using a simple patch statement . When i do that , if I want to see the attachments , can I see the list of attachment uploaded for specific record and view them ?

Just to be clear, we are talking about attachments now as they are a completely different subject to files stored in the Document Library.

Firstly, you do not need a Patch to store attachments - you can just use SubmitForm(), however if you attach files to an Attachment Control in a form, there is only one way of Patching it - I am assuming you have selected the item from a gallery here

Patch(
   ListName,
   {ID:GalleryName.Selected.ID},
   FormName.Updates
)

As for viewing - make a gallery with the Items (again using the ID logic above)

LookUp(
   YourListName,
   ID=GalleryName.Selected.ID
).Attachments

Then put an Image Control in the gallery with the Image property

ThisItem.Value

and then if you want to open it, put this on the OnSelect of the Image

Launch(ThisItem.AbsoluteUri)

Your solution is based on the form control in canvas app i suppose.

But i am not using any form controls in my canvass app. I have Just used Attachment controls in canvas app to upload attachment.

I simply want the attachment to list in gallery.

If you want the files stored as Attachments on the List, then the options are as I posted, except you cannot do this with a stand-alone control (you can but it is completely unnecessarily complex involving JSON conversion and a Flow). If use use a Form, it all becomes very easy either a simple SubmitForm() or the Patch on Updates.

If you want to use the control to store the files in a SharePoint Library, then Shane's video sets out the process for this.

Am I missing something somewhere?

Thanks a lot . I was scartching my mind with doing JSON, but this approach gave me what i wanted to do. I am able to upload multiple attachments and also could view them based on the patient record using the gallery control.
