Hi,
I am using PowerApps to create a Form in PowerApps and I created a repeating table. After the user inserts, it will be saved into a SharePoint List but the problem is when the ID in the Sharepoint List is different than the User's ID.
For Example,
Image001 is the user list and Image 002 is the list that the user inserted the data in the table.
As I want the ID in Image 002 to be the same as the User's ID in Image 001.
Is it possible to make ID in a SharePoint List matches with the User ID?
Thank you.

Hi @WarrenBelz
Thanks for your reply,
The Patch will be activated once the user has inserted into the repeating table as I created a button for the table row and There is a new record in the List List 'Purpose of data extraction' which has a Text field Title but does it show the ID that based on User ID in the 'Request List'.
Is it because of the Patch code executed before the user the form?
Thank you
Thanks @Anonymous ,
I have still yet to visualize this properly, but I will ask another few questions
Hi @WarrenBelz
Thank you for the reply,
Yes, the SubmitForm is before the Patch.
I tried to put the 'request List' ID column at the form screen but it does not show the ID Value before the Patch and while the user filling up the form
Yes, TextInput1.Text is the Text Input in the gallery the user has input
Thank You
Thanks @Anonymous ,
We have narrowed down the issue - if you cannot see the ListSubmit.Id on a label before the Patch, then clearly the Patch does not have it available to write to the data.
You can get the ID another way if it is already written to the List before the Patch - you have not give me the name of the second list that I can see - I will use Requests here (change if incorrect) - so this might work
Patch(
'Purpose of data extraction',
Defaults('Purpose of data extraction'),
{
Title:TextInput1.Text,
YourNewIDName:
First(
Sort(
Requests,
ID,
Descending
)
)
}
)

Hi @WarrenBelz
Thank you for your reply.
As the formula that you provided, Where can I put at? Should I put in the repeating table or do I need to create a new label in the Form to display the ID of the form?
Thank you
@Anonymous ,
It simply replaces the other Patch. The problem you seem to be having is getting the last submitted ID - this is another possible way.
Hi @WarrenBelz ,
Thank you for your reply
I put the formula that you provided but it still not working.
I think that is because of that the Patch run before the submit the form and the user ID is the SharePoint list ID which is auto-generated so that it cannot transfer even though the user ID will be generated after the user submits the form at the SharePoint list.
In that case, is there any possible way to solve that?
Thank you
@Anonymous ,
So to make sure I have understood you properly, are you saying the Patch runs before the SubmitForm that creates the record?
If so, this is not a Power Apps coding problem, how can it know an ID that has not yet been created? Is there any reason you cannot do the Patch first?
The only possible thing you could do is hope there are not other users conflicting and add one to the last one there presently.
Patch(
'Purpose of data extraction',
Defaults('Purpose of data extraction'),
{
Title:TextInput1.Text,
YourNewIDName:
First(
Sort(
Requests,
ID,
Descending
)+1
)
}
)

Hi @WarrenBelz
Thank you for your reply,
As the repeating table that I created is in the form which is the submit form so that the Patch the record in the repeating table will be run first before the user submit the form.
In that case, Is it possible to create column that auto-generate new number whenever there is a new user wanted to submit the form?
Thank you
@Anonymous ,
I am not sure how to elaborate further on my last response.
The ID is generated by SharePoint when a new record is created and is outside of the control of Power Apps other then the ability to retrieve it after it is generated. I gave you a formula to add 1 to the last generated ID, however if another user submitted a form between the Patch and the new record generation, you would get the wrong number.
