1. On the right Edit Override app header color properties pane, select Setting environment value and enter the unique name of your web resource you created earlier.

In this point, we need to use setting app value instead of setting environment value.

@DharaniGajula you do indeed need to use the (unique) Name of the web resource, and not the display name. You actually have the choice of whether of you want to put the name of the web resource into the Select environment value field (which will apply it to all apps in the environment) or in the Setting app value (to set it for a particular app). If you do the latter, you will need to "Play" the app from the maker portal and then refresh the browser after it loads completely the first time for the changes to take effect.

If i try to use setting environment variable the changes are not reflecting no matter how many times i refresh. According to the article, if i use setting environment variable it should apply to all apps. But it's not even applying for single app 

 

But if i use, setting app value, then only header colour is changing to green.

Theming only worked for me when I imported this setting:
Override app header colors web resource

Note, this is NOT the Override app header color setting that is mentioned in the latest guidance (perhaps that is an older setting?).

I set the environment value to the unique name of the XML file. No quotation marks. Published all customisations after, and hard-refreshed my app.

Tested by reverting and then performing the same steps. This is what worked for me. So it looks like the guidance is currently incorrect.

hey @vanfog, please check your build number against the one in the documentation. I suspect you aren't on a new enough version for "Override app header colors" to work yet. The "web resource" setting you mention is an older one that will be removed soon.

I'll add in the other setting and set that too, and hopefully the new setting will start to be used once the old one is deprecated and removed.

How to use this new functionality to use different app header colors in different environments? For example, my customer has a DEV, TEST and PROD environment, each with a different app header color: DEV = orange, TEST = green, PROD = blue. With the old theme, we could set the app header colors on a environment level (although using this method there was no solution awareness).

My customer is using managed solutions. I successfully set the color for the modern theme in the DEV environment by following the Microsoft Learn guide.

But how can I now set a different color for the TEST (green) and PROD (blue) environment for the modern theme, using my managed solution?

Hi,

Slight change of direction of this post, but felt it was relevant to the modern theming which I find a great addition.

Is there a method to change the logo (e.g. replace the power apps wording) on the header within this modern theming? I achieved this previously by using  the old legacy theming which was prior to the update. In this instance the header remained Purple. Whilst this new method allows the colour to change and be branded, I'd be interested if I've missed something regarding the addition of an logo.
