Using a datacardvalue to populate a choice dropdown field

Hello,

I have a form with two fields that displays information from a request ID. One of the fields on the form is actually editable, since users may be updating that information at the time of approval.  

The first field is a text field titled DataCardValue42_1  and has a requester email, that is populated at the time of the initial request. The default value of that is ThisItem.Requester.

The other field is DataCardValue73 which is a dropdown selection with the items property = Choices([@'Price Change Approval'].Approver) from the SharePoint list 

Is it possible to have it to where the value of the DataCardValue73 still displays the choices from the approver column in sharepoint, but also adds the requester value of DataCardValue42_1 to the selection list as well.  That way the users has the option of all of the other approvers to udpate the approver to, as well as the original requester in that selection list. What are some ways this can be achieved utilizing the datacardvalue properties?

Hi @bumbleb_98,

Yes, we could update the Approver with the requestor as well, however we could only set the Update property of the data card to achieve this.

Any time you want to update the Approver with the requestor, you just need to append the requestor to the Approver column.

One more thing you need to notice is that you need to add a button or something like a toggle to decide when to update the  Approver with the requestor.

Assuming that you just add a button and once you click it, you want to update the  Approver with the requestor.

1). Set the Button OnSelect as:

Set(requestor,true)

2). Set the Update property of the DataCardValue73 as:

If(requestor,LookUp(Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm:""}),Mail=DataCardValue42_1.Text),LookUp(Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm:""}),Mail=DataCardValue73.Selected.Email))

So there is no way to just add the requester email from DataCardValue42_1 to the dropdown list in DataCardValue73? The code above only changes the update action, it does not give the user to select options from DataCardValue73

Hi @bumbleb_98,

If the requestor and the approvers exist in the same organization, I think we could directly search it from the people picker.

Since you have set the DataCardValue73 items property with Choices() function, you could only search users based on the search text, so like I mentioned above, if they exist in the same organization, you could directly search he/she within.
