Viewing images from an app in a SharePoint folder

Hi there,

I have an image control on an app that engages with the phone camera when selected.  It allows the user to take a picture and save it with the record.  The image reference is recorded in the data source, (Excel file), and the image itself is posted to a SharePoint folder, however I can only see the images in the SharePoint folder that are associated with records I submitted.  One of colleagues has used the app and he can see the images associated with the records he has submitted in the same folder but he cannot see mine.

I have "owner" rights to the SharePoint folder, can anyone tell me what is preventing me from seeing all images stored in the folder?

It probably needs to be "Checked in". If you have a Flow that is running that is creating that image there add an extra step that checks it in after the file creation. 

To test the theory go to one of the ones you created on SharePoint click on the image and click those three dots to the right and go down to More and see if an option there is "Check in"..if so click it and then see if your coworker can see it now.

Unfortunately I don't see the "check-in" option when I follow the path you highlighted, the file attached shows what is displayed for me - do you have any other thoughts on what might be causing the issue?

Hmmm...that "Check in" is fairly new and got me a time or two but not all sites have that...I can't remember which do and don't.

Only other thing I can think of is see if you have to Share the folder with the other user. Sometimes when you do a site there is an option that doesn't carry over the Parent Site permissions (which can be changed). You might try clicking on the folder you can see and check who it is shared with and confirm it is with everyone who can access the site and not just you.

Let you know if I think of anything else.

Hi @rebeccas  many thanks for the quick reply.  I did check the folder share permissions and it is shared with the group of users I want to have access.  I tried changing the setting that states unique permissions on the folder to inherit from the parent but that did not work so I changed it back.  I will keep poking around and see if I can figure it out or get some random luck!

Could you tell me where did you meet this problem, in your sharepoint folder or powerapps app?

I need to know whether you can not see all the images in sharepoint folder or in your app?

If it happens in your app, could you show me your more settings about your app?

Based on your description, your problem is also related to Excel file.

I suggest you share your Excel file to your users, make them have permission to this file too.

Basically, your problem should be about permission.

I am having problems with a SharePoint list, I am creating an application with many share lists in the same application. Some lists cannot cite fields, List example: client, email, application ...... I'm using this schedule: ClearCollect (LastItem; Patch ('R7-QUADRADAAREA'; {Title: T7_CLI.Text; E-mail: T7_Email.Text; Aplica_x00e7_x00e3_o: T7_APLI.Text})) From the Sharepoint list, I generate an APP, just to obtain a nomenclature of fields, as they appear in strange formats, for example: "OData_x0071_Aplica".   Is there another way to reference the fields in the share list? Or automatically capture the data obtained in the APP, and send it to SharePoint

Patch and Clear Collect don't normally work in the same statement like that. Typically you can do Clear Collect to gather the data you want and then Patch is a separate process. 

So...for example Clear Collect is used to store data temporary...like if you wanted them to do a "shopping cart" and were adding a bunch of line items and then after you would use Patch to take the items you have in your collection and write them back to your data source when they were done and after they click submit. 

Collections are like a temporary table and Patch is used to Add/Edit items to your permanent table (SharePoint List, SQL, CDS..whatever your Data Source is).

in relation to the nomenclature of fields in the SharePoint list, how to do for references?

Not really...normally the field name (or column name) is what you should be referring to in the app. The only thing I can say is that if you change the name of the column in a SharePoint list it is not REALLY changed so sometimes that can cause confusion. 

If you go to a SharePoint list, go to your list settings, and where it list the columns...if you will just hover your mouse over the column and then look at the bottom of your screen it will show a location bar. To the far right is the name that the app will be looking for. 

See the image below...I might have changed the column name from Title to JobNumber but PowerApps will sometimes still refer to it as Title instead of JobNumber
